Review of the Royal London, Pension:

Terrible

our financial advisor recommended Royal London along with a couple of others to choose from. Wish we had never gone with Royal London. The charges taken by Royal London and our advisor are seriously wrecking an already poorly performing pension. We are changing both advisor and pension provider. Incidentally we have been told by a number of financial advisors we should never have gone with Royal London. Reviewed on: 3rd October 2020

Problems accessing my pension

Have had problems with accessing my pension.Sent all relevant paperwork off to royal london only to be informed after two weeks of myself phoning them that they hadn't received part of the paperwork.I had an annuity set up via Royal london but it cannot proceed as the annuity provider has been waiting for royal london to respond to their e-mails since mid November.Have filed a complaint about all the problems and am getting nowhere with it all. no action

I have been waiting for a month now for an estimate on my pension and despite each time saying that it has been posted I have still not received anything. All other post reaches my house on time so what is going on??? I can see me having to get a solicitor involved. Reviewed on: 9th December 2022

Loses made on pension funds

I lost £6k from my pension fund due to RL taking their eye of the ball , I am still waiting for a reply to my concerns and they charged me for them making these loses ….. Reviewed on: 10th November 2022

Never answer calls or call back

Tried to call about sorting my late mothers account. Tried over 10 times and wasted hours in the queue. Tried call back option no one ever calls back. Dealt with so many good banks and insurance companies so why bother with RL. Reviewed on: 31st October 2022

Dont recommend

I’ve been enrolled there by my previous employer and after changing the job I started to search paperwork and the way to log in to their system. I emailed to them about 3 times, they always replied with the same email - here is the link, put there all details as we don’t know who you are. Fair enough, done it 3 times and never got a reply. Somehow I managed to login by myself after many attempts and the dashboard was not user friendly so I couldn’t find answers to my questions. I emailed them again and got the same reply with the link, completed my details - never heard from them, instead they sent me a huge envelope of paperwork via post. There was everything about Everything so I found that info confusing. There was no point emailing them again with my questions (which were not answered by that envelope) as it’s a complete waste of time. Instead I took me pension out by requesting my other pension provider to deal with it. It took 4 weeks and eventually I’m free from London royal and don’t have to get agitated about dealing with their links and awful service/ no service ever again. I was quite worried before as I thought I’ll never see my money again with this company. Stay Away from them if you can. Reviewed on: 20th October 2022

Avoid

Avoid this company. They do not care about any of their customers. They are morally void and will avoid paying you at all costs. If you get insurance and need to claim to they will find the most obscure reason not to pay based on their assumptions Reviewed on: 30th September 2022

Sorted out a couple of pension policies in 2000 and there doing Nicely. Reviewed on: 15th September 2022

They refuse to transfer pension pot

It's been more than 3 months now and they are still stalling and delaying the movement of my pension pot to PensionBee. I've contacted them personally via email(on top of the PensionBee communication) and they asked for identification. It was provided and then they sent a second email asking the same. Their truly un-professional behaviour has reached scum like level. Definitely cannot trust them with my money. Would not recommend them at all. Reviewed on: 1st August 2022
