Review of the Sainsburys Bank, Home Insurance:

excellent customer service

5
I went with Sainsbury's home insurance a year ago after searching on a comparison site. Their renewal quote for the next year was £37 more than last year so I rang and spoke to an advisor. Within minutes she quoted me a price that is even lower than last year! Great customer service. Reviewed on: 14th July 2023

Who reads small print!? Well, an excess of £600 for a water leak! Won't cover cost of repair or to put right the cost of access to repair. So , basically not much is covered . Total rip off insurance so keep it at arms length. Reviewed on: 15th April 2025

Boiler repair claim

1
I claimed for a boiler repair which had to be dealt with urgently because of escaping water. I contacted the original installer who repaired the boiler. Because I failed to contact Sainsbury's Insurance prior to the boiler failure I am now left with a bill of £480 which Sainsbury's refuse to accept as a claim. I will never insure with Sainsbury;s Reviewed on: 14th March 2025

9 Months and waiting for claim to be settled

1
My husband and I had our house broken into overnight whilst we slept - back in March. 2 Cars stolen (covered by separate insurance companies) - we also had a small number of items taken from the kitchen - handbag, purse, iPad and iPhone that were charging in the kitchen - 9 months on we are still waiting, we have provided all of the information we needed, photographic evidence, receipts etc.. at first the claim was denied, they said that there was a clause that there was no forced or violent entry - locksmith and police stated that they had entered by putting their hand into the cat flap and un-locking the door. The non-forced/violent entry clause was only applicable if the house had been empty for 60+ days. WE WERE ASLEEP IN BED!!!! They have passed us on to a claims handling company Davis Group - an absolute disgrace. 9 months later they are still giving us the run around, saying they are waiting on a copy of the policy report - we provided case number and Police Officer details who attended - why did they not do this 9 months ago. THEY ARE A DISGRACE - DO NOT BUY INSURANCE FROM THEM Reviewed on: 30th December 2024

Had SAINSBURYS HOME INSURANCE for years never any claims On the one day I needed HOME EMERGENCY because I had no heating. I called them only to be told you haven’t renewed the policy but funny about that. I’ve got policy documents so when you try to call somebody SAINSBURYS HOME INSURANCE to clarify there’s nobody available Saturday Saturdays and Sundays so looks like I can’t claim against HOME EMERGENCY so don’t waste your money getting this insurance. Awful home insurance.

Awful home insurance. Firslt I took out home insurance - the overcharged on what they quoted on the phone. Then they sent me a car insruance booklet. I paid extra for home emergency - no contact details. All their base phone numbers are closed on a Sunday. Then I cancelled and the agreed to refund but ring me up from a random number asking for bank details. I refused and they refuse to send a cheque or refund to the orginal method of payment . The emergency homec are - contacted eventually at 10amd - they turned up 1.30 in the middle of the night Reviewed on: 7th November 2024
