My santender account is good enough to use.

I find my Santander account easy to manage and I couldn't think of a better account to use being at university. When I opened my student account I was given an overdraft with 0% interest which doesn't need to be paid back until I finish university. Moreover, whenever I'm in need of assistance I always come off the phone or away from the branch feeling as though I have gained all the help I need in order to solve my problems. The interest rates are nothing too different from other current accounts. Customer service in my local branch though is excellent and for that I prefer Santander. Reviewed on: 7th November 2018

Extortionists

I opened a student account due to starting university and Santander offered a 1/3rd off rail card. That was actually useless as it was only accepted a couple of hours during the afternoon. Once I completed my degree they immediately removed my overdraft regardless of the fact that I had made their requested payments in their requested time, and insisted I pay it all off though I am currently looking for work. So now I am going to have a Default on my record because of these incompetent extortionists. As soon as I start working I will close my account, my partner will be shutting hers and moving her savings too. worse customer service than EA, avoid like the plague, go anywhere else Reviewed on: 4th October 2018

charging people money for running outta money!

I usually try to avoid unplanned overdraft but got into it during the last 12 months due to a few emergencies & cash flow problems. The transaction fees on unarranged overdrafts are extortionate plus I phoned up for hard copy of my statement to try and wrestle this mess into order and they kept me on hold listening to ghastly music for nearly half an hour! They promised a call-back today between 12 and 4, which they didn't. When you phone them on your mobile they can charge £15 for the call on top of your normal billing so I have been reluctant to chase them given the mess I have already gotten in. They broke a promise to this loyal customer of 12 years and not happy. thinking of taking up on that current account switch service as I have gone without the promised one to one support from Santander. Reputable Company but Bad Rates

I find the company easy enough to deal with. Never had any problems, and find their app and website very easy to use. Their interest rates, however, are very appalling and I am looking to switch very soon to a company with competitive rates. Reviewed on: 4th April 2018
