Stay Well Clear of Santander

The worst bank and customer service on the planet! I have had a lock placed on my account and the reason they gave me was that i have used contactless payment too much. Now considering i have spent the last 3 weeks in Singapore and never use the card as i dont want to pay their extortionate rates. I transfer from the bank to Wise. Now they have blocked it and tell me i have to buy something in Singapore and put my pin number in to release the block. Its the only way i can unblock it! Santander are a joke and i shall be closing the account down because of this. Complete failures! still waiting on the line for the fraud team to unblock this bar and been waiting over an hour so far. i am stuck in Singapore without access to my money. Discounts are acceptable, let down by response to problems.

If their ‘security’ suspects a breach, they ‘block’ your account, stop paying direct debits - and don’t even tell you!. Sorting it out becomes a major problem, and your credit rating takes a shock. Reviewed on: 17th March 2023

Best account for bills

This account, alongside the newly introduced Santander Edge Current Account is the best account on the market for paying bills, specifically by direct debit. These accounts are the only ones currently on offer with ant institution that offer this service making them a must-have for pretty much anyone. I would strongly recommend them. A decent bank account

So easy!

Safe, secure, efficient

Santander's 123 account remains a good all round current account. It's true that it's interest earning rate is lower than when it started, but the account remains safe to use, secure from fraudsters, and Customer Service remains good. I think that the same can be said for all services and products that Santander provides. Reviewed on: 14th March 2023
