Good money maker

I switched to Santander bank after having a bad experience with Lloyds a year ago. The nice lady in Santander introduced me to 123 current account and worked out for me ,taking into account my salary, savings, spending, whether this account is suitable for me. She want pushy or manipulative and left the decision to me. When I switched the bank moved all my bills and standing orders to my new accound and the money that had been sitting in my saving account making almost no profit. Over the last year I made around 200 pounds by having the money in my 123 Current account instead of keeping it in my old Saving account. Even with the fee increase from 2 to 5 pounds its still worth staying with them if you have over 10000 pounds in savings. Reviewed on: 24th December 2015

Good Concept

Whilst the 123 account is a good concept, you really need to be paying utility bills for it to be worth it. The product could be refreshed and revamped to make it more current. Reviewed on: 10th January 2023

A decent bank

I have always been with Santander and had no issues with them. I am disappointed their Santander cashback/rewards scheme has been stopped and hope their is more incentive to have an account with them in the future Reviewed on: 10th January 2023

Moving money out is a nightmare

Trying to move money online with Santander is an absolute nightmare. the bank refused to move money to another another bank account in my name and then blocked my account. I then have to spend an hour on the phone (75% of which was waiting to speak to somebody) to unblock the account and making the transfer. This has happened so many times that I will move my account elsewhere. Reviewed on: 7th December 2022

Poor service

I was an hour and 20 minutes on the phone with them regarding a card dispute. Was transferred from person to person with very long waiting times, when the call was disconnected! Of course no one rang back. So trying to ring them again - I was told I was out of calling hours. I wish I did not bother calling! Reviewed on: 21st November 2022

Useless from start to finish

Useless from start to finish. i have relocated to Singapore, i have told Santander this on numerous occasions. i have told them i will be transferring a large sum of money from my UK account to a HSBC account in Singapore. They are fully aware. so when i transferred a test amount through, my account is now locked out and i have to wait 6 more hours for a UK call center to open. no 24 hour support. totally shocking in this day and age. I had a stroke and was seriously ill in hospital for a few months. When I got home I found someone had got into my account and emptied it through dozens of abnormal transactions which they failed to spot, they were unhelpful, rude, blocked my mobile, refused to speak to me and responded by closing my account after 50 years as a loyal customer. NOT FIT TO BE IN BUSINESS AND ANTI DISABLED CUSTOMERS. Reviewed on: 7th November 2022

Stay Well Clear of Santander

The worst bank and customer service on the planet! I have had a lock placed on my account and the reason they gave me was that i have used contactless payment too much. Now considering i have spent the last 3 weeks in Singapore and never use the card as i dont want to pay their extortionate rates. I transfer from the bank to Wise. Now they have blocked it and tell me i have to buy something in Singapore and put my pin number in to release the block. Its the only way i can unblock it! Santander are a joke and i shall be closing the account down because of this. Complete failures! still waiting on the line for the fraud team to unblock this bar and been waiting over an hour so far. i am stuck in Singapore without access to my money.
