Dare to hope,!

I have been very ill with cancer. During my treatments I took my eye off the ball as the saying goes. Was too ill to deal with post and many many calls from people demanding money. I was becoming paranoid about the phone,the postman. Well debts don’t go away I didn’t know where or who to turn to, my life was such a mess, I was even contemplating ending it all. A friend came here and said why don’t we ring Stepchange the debt charity. I had nothing to lose but from that very first call, they made me feel like we can sort this out together and took me through every single step. Every person I spoke with was efficient,nothing was too much trouble, kind and compassionate. Made me feel like perhaps I could live a life. Am not the only person this happens to. Quite a bit of paperwork which I found daunting but even if I was stuck on silly questions I always got a real person to speak with. I can’t praise them high enough Reviewed on: 27th August 2024

Lifesavers!

StepChange helped me see light at the end of the tunnel where previously there had been none. My debts had spiralled through my own stupidity and I couldn't see any clear way forward. The staff at StepChange were non-judgemental and helped me deliver a plan accepted by my creditors. Don’t be afraid to make that first call to stepchange

Step change helped me see the light at the end of a very dark tunnel. The relief I felt the day I picked up the phone was unbelievable. I dreaded making the call but it was single handedly the best decision I’ve ever made. I was struggling with managing to pay my debts and I turned to Stepchange to help me find the best solution. At first I felt embarrassed at my situation but the lady who answered my call was very caring, understanding and reassuring. It wasn't too long before we worked out the best solution for me and I began to feel more positive regarding my situation. It was the most important I made in a long time. We had a debt management scheme with StepChange for approximately 10 years, yes we had a lot of debt. They were so helpful and kind, whatever happened to us, job losses, etc they were able to help us repay our debts, within our own budget. So helpful and informative as well.
