A very satisfied customer...and then some!

Taking out a mortgage at the grand old age of 69 years having been told by my mortgage advisor the likelihood of which “may not be easy”,I persisted.And there you were. My one product with The Family Building Society,hasn’t required much direct contact it has to be said.However,the few occasions it has been necessary,I have met with friendly,supportive,professional individuals for whom nothing was too much trouble. Likewise,having recently remortgaged,everything was explained and I was kept informed every step of the way. Thank you. Reviewed on: 3rd June 2021

Here’s a reworded version of your feedback: **"The experience with Family was disappointing. There was a significant delay in reviewing the documents, which added unnecessary frustration to the process. The case was initially referred to them for consideration before the valuation was booked, so it was surprising to receive a decline without prior discussion. It would have been far more constructive to have a conversation about why the case didn’t meet their lending appetite, rather than simply receiving an email with the decision."** Reviewed on: 23rd January 2025

Called FBS re changes to the BoE base rate and whether the last one in November 24 had been passed on. The operative I spoke to was very helpful, confirmed this is happening 20th Feb 25 and then spent time answering related questions for me. Reviewed on: 10th January 2025
