Matured Bond

Encouraged to use online service. Used the service to give bond maturity instructions. Received an email confirming receipt. Maturity date came and went and nothing happened. Eventually spoke to a human who said that they hadn’t received instructions!! Assured me that it would be dealt with immediately. Nothing happened!! Sent two emails today and got an automated reply to say they were very busy!! Still awaiting return of my investment. I was initially going to re-invest but have lost all confidence in this institution - very unimpressed! Reviewed on: 6th June 2025

Tried twice online and Family did not receive either application. Reverted to good old paper and was successful. Phoned customer service which was very helpful. Reviewed on: 28th October 2019

Excellent value savings product and good service

Opened the 9month savings product - thrilled to get it. Delighted I was able to change how the interest is paid - could have been easier if I could've changed it online but happy with 3 day turn around given how good the value is. Reviewed on: 25th October 2019

I started trying to open an 'online' fixed term product with the Post Office but they wanted to do everything by post, charged fees for checking ID, would only accept a posted cheque etc. I gave up and found Family Building Society. Excellent New Customer Experience

I have not had a product with Family Building Society previously but my experience with them from start to finish has been excellent. I did everything I needed to do to open a savings account online and was kept up to date with how my application was progressing and also received correspondence by mail. I also needed to contact the Family B/S by telephone and the two people I spoke to were extremely helpful, friendly and called me back when they said they would. I was so impressed that I have already recommended them to a family member who has also taken out a savings product with them and had the same great experience. Thank you a Family B/S. Account Opening

I opened a 9 month fixed term savings account. Account had very good rates. I needed to contact customer services a number of times as they needed proof of identity and address. Customer services were very polite and helpful. I did feel the Society was a victim of the success of the account as opening the account and id verification took longer than I would expect due to the high demand for the product; also answering the phone took longer. I do feel however, that this will now have improved. Reviewed on: 24th October 2019
