Wish I had switched sooner.

Wish I had switched sooner. For once I feel good about what my money is going towards - in line with my values. Transparent investments, great updates on where the money is going, and also incredible customer service - no more waiting on the phone for hours for me. And the app is good. Couldn't be happier. Now it’s got Apple Pay it’s perfect!

Now it’s got Apple Pay it’s perfect! It’s always been a great no-frills account, and in previous years I’ve marked it down for not supporting Apple/Google pay because that’s a highly convenient (and secure) way to make online payments. Whilst other banks may have interesting budgeting tools, or ways to split bills between friends with the same account (take a bow, Monzo) these are nice-to-haves. What matters is that the bank is open about how it’s using my money, that the payments are reliable and simple, that my card works every time I tap it (another improvement with the move to Visa this year). The charge is minimal for what we get - I don’t mind paying for separate gadget or travel insurance if I need it. Some users may be affected by the withdrawal of the overdraft facility this year, which was a bit of a surprise, but we have been able to compensate by moving a small amount of savings into the current account to give us the buffer we occasionally need at the end of the month.
