Got a quote online for £555 phoned up to ask for someone to go through the quote due to poor reviews on here, they came back with £1200 rising to £1600 with interest, I told them about the £555 quote they had given online and gave the reference number they said they can do that price but it was not available to pay anually, only available for a monthly payment with a 21% interest charge of £200!!! How can you offer a service for a price but demand to give credit at a rate of 21% that isn't wanted or needed ??? Asked to speak to customer service, told if you don't like it go somewhere else !! Everything was good until it came to cancelling my policy they have an auto renew scam so you basically go from having 20 days insurance left to having 385 days left I asked to see the renewal figure for comparison prior to renewal was told I would receive an email regarding this which never came when I saw the new figure it hade gone up by over £400 a year and was £600 more than my best comparison Ageas btw Everything is conducted via an app but you hit cancel and that has to be a phone call…. Made the call you cancel through the renewals line …. They bounced me to customer service saying renewals don’t deal with cancellation….. when I got through to customer service their response wasn’t to find out how to help me they were astounded I had got hold of them then asked me how I had got this number then told me I had to talk to renewals …… I told them that’s where I was bounced from in the first place told them I wasn’t a pinball and they offered to get the correct team to call me and we agreed 4pm which came and went at 7pm I emailed them detailing their conduct and advised them of my intention to leave this email wasn’t easy to find since it isn’t listed anywhere however I did have an email from the customer service team about an issue 2 years prior so I emailed them on that address this was the customer service email which has now also been closed down for the last 3 months I have received emails and text messages daily threatening me of legal action regarding a late cancellation fee of £102 despite having cancelled my renewal before my renewal date Vile people Vile customer service Don’t use them not worth the hassle to save a few quid on your initial quote which they clearly recover in the subsequent years…. Disgusting company, been pestered now for a cancellation charge against me for a policy they cancelled themselves due to non disclosure of an incident I was totally unaware of. It's been proven by Action 365 that it was a case of mistaken identity Vanline Direct still want to charge me this fee dating back to March 2020, over 5 years ago. Called them numerous times and tried to resolve this explaining the decision made against me by Action 365 who investigate insurance claims(Another dodgy company used by Vanline Direct). A rep explained that they were going to look into thia matter further but low and behold following day recieved another email chasing me for this fee. I'm pulling my hair out with this disgusting company and going round in circles, they're threatening to take money out of an account of mine that is on their records so I've cancelled the card so this won't happen and I will be seeking legal action against these criminals because they're absolutely doing my swede in. How can a company charge you a cancellation fee on a policy they cancelled themselves due to a case of mistaken identity and without reason absolutely pester you threatening all sorts, they use scare tactics in their emails to you, threaten your credit score and threaten you with the fact that taking out further insurance with any other insurance company will be very difficult. Worst insurers

Tried to cancel policy as I sold my van, they add lots of charges and threaten you with extra charges and credit damage if you refuse to pay, worst insurers I have come across , AVOID Reviewed on: 7th January 2025

Been stranded in the side of the road for nearly 6 hours it’s -2 degrees said it would be around a hour my vans on a unlit busy dual carriage way all I get is lies and at one point even herd them laughing at me in the background Reviewed on: 20th November 2024

Reading other reviews it is correct to say that they lie and they trick you out of hundreds! I tried to call and get in contact several times to cancel my insurance but could never speak to someone and now they are trying to charge me hundreds just to cancel! They are such a rip off!! Not only that but I am being bombarded with 5 or more messages a day and they have taken money out of my account without my authorisation!! I would advise not to use them as there are better companies out there who will not rip you off! Reviewed on: 13th November 2024

Please be careful if you use van line direct. Their sales team will tell you lies via their 'recorded' phone calls. These phone calls are un accessible if they have found misconduct within there company. But gaurenteed the phone calls would be there if i were to be abusive. They will add fault claims to your policy. So please be wary and check all documentation. I personally will never use van line direct again as they are very unprofessional. Cancelled my policy and went to hastings direct. They even wanted to charge me 45 pounds to cancel my policy for their own mistakes. Farcical to say the least. Reviewed on: 11th September 2024

I went on compare the meerkat for new van insurance and clicked what I thought was a good deal. Got this circus who then went through everything I had just put in already then quoted me £1300 when I paid £680 the year before. I then said no and was told I had to speak to someone from technical ??? However never got to as the customer service’s constantly hang up on you. I thought getting insurance should not be this hard then abandoned it and went onto a competitor company direct and got it for £500 cheaper with more perks. From now on I will just ring companies direct as a broker web sight to then put you onto a broker all adding their bits on ???? Reviewed on: 16th May 2023
