Don't always believe

Money tooken for house valuation and it is our fault that we didn't wait for the answer first. But customer advisor was saying "no need to woried all should be okay, all looks good". Declined because of that there is gaps for last 4 years working (it is not true). Money for deposit are from student finance (Not true as well). Not even given a chance to prove that that it is not true. "You are in risk beacuse of Covid-19". So why giving a hope.. I do not recommended Reviewed on: 16th July 2020

Pleased to have chosen Vernon for our new BTL venture

Very good start to the process with Jack Mottershead very responsive and supportive. Pretty smooth all through with questions answered quickly by the support team too. Negatives: some of the requirements seemed biased towards a retail mortgage rather than a commercial BTL loan, so to me were strange, as if one-size-fits-all on paperwork. I'm disappointed that you can't choose to set the monthly mortgage payment to a higher 'static' amount and pay off principal on a drip-feed basis: appreciate you can make £1k minimum, but i prefer to accelerate repayment by starting low and eating into loan principal monthly so the repayment amount starts to increase by pennies but on a compound basis.. Lower rate would have been nice: had a lower rate option (even allowing for fees over a fixed term basis) but decided to stay with Vernon given customer support in the early stages and kept fingers crossed that nothing went wrong laterly... luckily it didn't. Professional and open

At our older age, my wife and I were delighted to receive our re-mortgage offer, which has allowed us to send our granddaughter to university. An investment in more ways than one! When I needed to contact Vernon on the telephone, my call was answered promptly and in a very pleasant and welcoming manner. Reviewed on: 8th December 2025
