Please don’t use This card

My card got hacked so I cancelled the card. Asked for a new card to be sent out . Card was sent to the wrong address, when I contacted them to ask where my card was they wouldn’t tell me the address it was sent to. They just said it wasn’t sent to the address I asked. I Tried the same process again giving them my address 3 times making sure they had the correct address. Again the same thing happened, I’ve never had an issue receiving mail at this Address, it’s now been one month no card. Tried several times to resolve the problem and the consultants were of no help whatsoever. This card has a few good things going for it in the rewards program but thats about it. This is the first review I’ve ever wrote custom service is the worst, once your card is locked from being hack you cannot access to see any transactions. I wanted to cancel my card and pay out the balance but couldn’t access my profile to double check the transactions. End of the day worst experience cannot recommend this card whatsoever Reviewed on: 10th February 2025

Not worth the hassle

If you ever need to contact them be prepared it may take hours or days or even weeks to try and resolve any issues. Not even used the card yet and I am done with them. They are so unhelpful on the phone even though they are the ones that lost the money for the balance transfer! Go elsewhere. Reviewed on: 29th June 2022

Appalling Customer Service!

Like so many others, it took me days / weeks to eventually get through to somebody on the phone (due to the fact that I was unable to use online services). And when I did, the "customer service" (what a joke) agent was disinterested, rude, unhelpful and clearly had no idea what they were doing. I was constantly being told to "hang on a minute" and "wait a second" whilst they did something in the background and when I asked if they were able to actually help me they told me I was being rude and cut me off. Needless to say, I have closed my account with them, raised a formal complaint and will not be using them again. What a terrible company! Avoid! Reviewed on: 28th June 2022

Impossible to make contact

Having moved recently, I have mislaid account and logon information for a savings account and have not been able to find any remedy online that works. My only remedy seemed to be a phone call: forget it!! I have just had to hang up after a 30 minute wait. Reviewed on: 8th June 2022

Misleading and expensive (read the small print)

After booking a foreign holiday I then looked for a credit card which would not charge transactions fees. Virgin Credit Cards state that there will be no transaction fee for 6 months. I returned from holiday only to find that I had been charged 2.5% on every transactions. When I rang to complain they told me I could not have a refund because it was written in the SMALL PRINT or as they said the "Terms an Conditions" that this doesn't include using it abroad. I've told them to cancel my account as I will be cutting up my card. Reviewed on: 5th June 2022

Beware - designed to nudge you onto the full interest rate

I made one payment 24 hours late so Virgin Money charged me full interest from that point on - suddenly I was paying 22.9% interest instead of 0%. Of course they don't communicate this with you so you find out several months later after parting with £100s of pounds in interest. My fault for paying late, you might say - well I had a direct debit setup which they had inexplicably cancelled. Beware of joining, you may end up being 'nudged' onto the full interest rate. I was in the Stockton branch, cancelling a direct debit and it was very busy, but got dealt with quickly and efficiently and overall was an excellent experience.

I'm not a lover of doing things like this, I'd rather do everything online but I had to go in the bank to sort out the problem and glad I did, as it's made me think, why be bothered about dealing with things publicly. The young gentleman who served me couldn't of been more polite and efficient, actually put me in a good mood for the rest of the day. Problem solving 10/10 and very quick. Cannot recommend this branch anymore highly. Reviewed on: 5th May 2022

Sub standard app

Initially the app is slow to load. Thereafter, at least every 2 weeks, the app fails to load requiring me to to uninstall and reinstall. A bad move to discontinue the Web site Reviewed on: 30th April 2022
