Policy covers nothing in effect

I thought that my buying insurance from a well known company that I would be covered. Wrong! My flight was cancelled and with no available flight for three days my travel company transferred my holiday to next year. As I was not aware that the flight was cancelled until I arrived at Gatwick airport Easyjet reimbursed a percentage of my travel home costs. I attempted to claim my travels costs for the journey to Gatwick airport from my travel insurance (which stated it covered travel expenses. First Admiral said that they would not pay out as Easyjet had sent an email informing me that the flight was cancelled. When I replied that the email was sent AFTER I had left home, and was well on my journey, and that even if we had turned around that I would still have had to pay the taxi driver - they replied that taxi fares are not covered by the policy! Admiral annual travel policy

I buy an annual travel insurance policy with admiral and they are great. Most services can be done on the website, but if you need to call them they are always friendly and helpful, and you aren't kept waiting on hold for ages. Price is reasonable and the cover is good. Admiral are a great company to use for insurance.

Admiral are a great company to use for insurance. I had to make a claim because my trip got cancelled last minute and the process for claiming was so straight forward and much quicker than I thought it would be. The price for insurance and what it covered was reasonable as well. I use Admiral whenever I travel because I know their reliable. I would highly recommend using them! Reviewed on: 23rd August 2024

Clear affordable cover

We've always taken out travel insurance but only recently subscribed to being covered by admiral travel insurance for 2 years in a row now. I was especially thankful that this year the cover cost was reduced due to my C-section being elective rather than a medical condition. That was well explained by the customer service representative which gave me an informed choice on the cover. Reviewed on: 8th August 2024

Complete Waste of Money - AVOID!

Booked annual European travel insurance with Admiral earlier this year for self and husband. Had 2 short European holidays booked at the time and declared medical conditions were covered. Husband subsequently had a one off "faint/black-out and was referred for tests/scans. Admiral implemented a medical exclusion for issues related to "undiagnosed condition". We updated Admiral shortly prior to 2nd pre-booked trip departure date as he had experienced no further health issue and 2 test results just returned had not indicated any problems - but MRI scan still outstanding due to waiting lists. On phone, Admiral confirmed related medical exclusion would continue, not great, but we decided we would travel with global health insurance cards. Next evening (Friday) email received from Admiral cancelling husband's insurance completely. Not contactable over the weekend as office closed. Remonstrated with them on Monday and asked why we couldn't retain general cover with continuing medical exclusion as were due to travel within 2 days. They refused to consider any other alternative. We were apparently left with 2 options - 1) go on holiday with no insurance cover at all for husband. 2) Cancel trip with no option to put in a claim as policy does not cover you being able to cancel a holiday (booked before medical issue arose), as a result of Admiral having unreasonably completely cancelled your insurance cover.!
