Don't Do It

Before you consider taking out insurance with these thieves....stop....put your debit card down. Don't believe their "animal friends" nicey nicey name/image...these guys will whatever they can to not pay you the money you're owed. My dog has been left lame and in pain for nearly 2 months while I've had two different claims denied. I've now just had to bite the bullet and pay for it myself. I've had insurance with them for 4 years and never claimed a penny. Then when I need them... guess what, they try to wriggle out of paying and couldn't care less about your pet. Best advice I can give you is to direct debit the money you would pay to them monthly into a savings account and further down the line if/when you need it you will have a pot of money to at least lessen the burden Reviewed on: 2nd March 2021

okay price but a bit OTT on restrictions

Have 2 cats, the older one is insured through Animal Friends as they offered the most competitive price at the time I took out the insurance. When my youngest cat came to me from the Cats Protection League I felt it easiest to insure him with Animal Friends too and the monthly premium still remains reasonable. However when he first moved in he had a couple of episodes of blood in his faeces. He was checked out thoroughly by the vet who found no cause for concern and said it was probably just down to a change of diet. Indeed he had no further problems. I should have kept my mouth shut when I was asked if any medical history as they immediately seized on this to exclude gut problems from the insurance. Fantastic Simple Pet Insurance

I have found using Animal Friends a very smooth process when I have unfortunately had to claim for my dog who has allergies. They have paid out for various treatments relating to my dogs allergies, I don’t know what I would have done if my dog was not insured as the vets bills would have caused a massive financial stain on my family for our much loved pooch! cheaper than others but that's about it so far

People over the phone dont seem to understand veterinary conditions and how things are not interlinked, and despite a vet also confirming this - anything to put exclusions on policy, so far very dissapointed Reviewed on: 6th July 2019
