Don't Do It

Before you consider taking out insurance with these thieves....stop....put your debit card down. Don't believe their "animal friends" nicey nicey name/image...these guys will whatever they can to not pay you the money you're owed. My dog has been left lame and in pain for nearly 2 months while I've had two different claims denied. I've now just had to bite the bullet and pay for it myself. I've had insurance with them for 4 years and never claimed a penny. Then when I need them... guess what, they try to wriggle out of paying and couldn't care less about your pet. Best advice I can give you is to direct debit the money you would pay to them monthly into a savings account and further down the line if/when you need it you will have a pot of money to at least lessen the burden Reviewed on: 2nd March 2021

Great Value

I have for dogs so insurance can be expensive, however Animal Friends prices are very competitive and offer great value for money. They also provide 'all of life' cover which is essential if your pet gets diagnosed with a life long condition. My youngest dog, Bess ( a 3 year old black labrador) has just been diagnosed with osteoarthritis and will need lifelong treatment but I know that I will always be able to finance her treatment as Animal Friends don't end your cover after a year! An insurance company who won't let you down

I have been very impressed with Animal Friends insurance company since I have been using them (around 5 years) They are a no nonsense, plain speaking company with friendly and professional staff and policies to suit all situations and budgets. I have needed to use them once during this time and they were very efficient and they were also very sympathetic and caring when one of dogs died. Paid my claim super fast directly to my vet

My little cat broke his tail and needed several operations. The bill was quickly mounting up to over£800 which I didn't have at the time. Animal friends dealt with everything and unlike other insurance companies, they paid my vet directly,after each operation, leaving me stress free, to concentrate on getting my moggy better. Thankfully not had dealings with insurance yet

Not enough interaction with current insurer to make a judgement. Fingers crossed I either don't need to apply, or don't have to battle with them. Reviewed on: 23rd August 2017

No hassle

I can't claim direct with the vet so had to pay vet and claim back. Have claimed 3 times now and no problems at all. One claim was very expensive too. Make sure you take out the insurance that covers conditions for life. Reviewed on: 4th July 2017

awful company, no compassion

Had to contact these to tell them my pet had died in a horrendous accident for the man to be like 'well we need proof it was actually an accident to claim on insurance'. No compassion whatsoever, and they still did not pay anything. AVOID!!!! Reviewed on: 3rd May 2017

Ok but concerned due to policy changes

I've registered my pug with Animal Friends since he was 4 months old. He had a nasty ear infection which was caused by nothing other than water getting into his ear however they won't cover him for any issues with his ears for the rest of his life. Shame. Reviewed on: 7th April 2017
