Disappointing with Asda Credit Card Process

What a joke! I applied for an Asda credit card and received an email stating my application had been approved, asking me to log in and set up a direct debit. I tried several times, but it kept telling me I already had an account. After two months with no credit card, I contacted Asda to ask for an update. I was told I hadn’t set up the direct debit, and they gave me an email address to resolve the issue. It’s been five days, and they still haven’t read my email. So Asda Money, thank you but NO thanks. An ok Store credit card

If you shop in Asda like we do then this card is good, we get 1% cashback inside the store and 0.5% if used anywhere else, The cashback is paid in the form of vouchers for instore which I build up to use at Christmas time. Ok for us as we always shop in Asda Reviewed on: 6th November 2017

Used and ignored

My hubby had a credit card with Asda, always paid it off. But their particular scheme was ending so we let the card vlose. As he hardly used it. Well, the online only account moved to Santander, then out of the blue a bill arrived sanding a large sum. Couldn't get online to view statements anymore, call centre unhelpful and now this random balance amount has moved to a company called Newday who don't answer their phones quickly, when they do they pass you from pillar to post and still several years on we are trying to chase up what this mystery balance is for and how to close the account and get our money back they have taken which we do not owe! Fuming doesn't cut it! We've never had this before with a credit card, it's lovely they've been selling on a debt that shouldn't exist anyway and no one cares but we keep.payong a monthly amount to stop bailiffs being called to collect this none debt! Avoid, outsourced to Creation Finance

Applied for the Cashback Credit Plus Credit card, they sent wrong card out. No apologies, said I would have to re apply. Creation Finance who are used are not helpful. Abrupt. Not customer service orientated from my experience. Cancelled card as would not be happy dealing with the call centre from the 2 poor experiences I have had. Reviewed on: 10th July 2017

Would not choose again

I never liked this card. I thought I would get it as my local supermarket became an ASDA store when I moved house, but I was being charged interest every month when I should have been on a 0% offer, and the staff online and over the phone weren't very helpful with my issue. Ideal for regular Asda customers.

Asda credit card is in my opinion the best cashback card around. It offers 2% cashback in Asda stores and petrol and 1% elsewhere. When I had queries their customer service was very helpful. Reviewed on: 4th June 2017

Good cash back paid on a monthly basis

Easy to use and reliable on-line access and as good a regular, committed cash back facility on all spending and enhanced by shopping at Asda. An added bonus that the cash back is credited to the account every month and automatically reduced the direct debit payment. Reviewed on: 30th April 2017

Hard work but decent cashback

I was attracted to this card because of the cashback, but have spent a lot of time sorting it out over the past few months. Had problems activating the main card online and needed to phone to get it sorted ( the second card was activated OK). Then my direct debit wasn't set up properly. More phone calls, but it was set up and they refunded the charges. And they will only give us a credit limit equal to our monthly income, so when we paid for our holidays we went a small amount over the limit and have been hit with a £12 charge. Should have paid on our old card which has a decent limit. I'm persevering as surely everything is set up OK now. But I daren't use it as my main card until they give me a decent credit limit.
