Halifax bank is disgusting I have been an account holder for in excess of 20 years I am 73 years and I have just had an operation for stomach cancer and now I have a lump in my liver that is being investigated. I called today to try to transfer £100.00 to an elderly lady in London that has no money and no shopping she lives 50 miles from me I called the Halifax and waited 50 mins for my call to be answered went through the security including my voice is my password and was connected to a gentleman at the Halifax re refused to allow me to make the transfer and was not helpful at all I asked to speak to a supervisor as it was a matter of urgency and possibly life and death he connected me to another agent who again refused to allow me to transfer money I was told I could raise a complaint which I did and was told it would take a week before anyone came back to me in the meantime someone has no money or food eventually I was informed that I wasn’t talking to a supervisor so I asked to be connected I was then told I couldn’t be connected as I had raised a complaint.Under the circumstances I am disgusted with the Halifax everyone is in lockdown not allowed out we are both elderly and I have underlying problems and they refused to help I have a fair amount of money in my account and only wanted to transfer £100. To possibly save someone’s life but I now have to either drive the 120 mile round journey or pay a courier I spent one and a half hours on the phone I will be taking this up with the F.O this is disgusting treatment of elderly people Reviewed on: 28th March 2020

Been with the Halifax bank since Junior school! Great banking and customer service. I will never leave. Reviewed on: 9th February 2020

A decent basic service

The basic current account is fine for most needs. There is a tiny £2 per month reward, having reduced from £5 originally. The main reason I stay with them is the staff in my local branch. They are helpful, friendly and courteous. Reviewed on: 8th February 2020

I have been banking with halifax for over 20 years, and have always felt my money is in safe hands with them. They are reliable, friendly and, most importantly, reimbursed me when I was a victim of fraud many years ago. Reviewed on: 8th February 2020
