However it could be improved with an online chat feature and the ability to get sent banking pins via text (securely). I like the fingerprint support to get into your account. This works in the mobile banking app. 10/10 Amazing! Reviewed on: 18th December 2017

Halifax hell

Having had difficulties with Halifax for the past year i will soon close my account and i am in the market for a new current account. Their customer service is appalling and i do not feel at all valued as a customer. The experience has been truly hellish!! Reviewed on: 17th December 2017

Very helpful Bank

My son and daughter started their accounts when they were 8 and 9 respectively. They are still using the Halifax 30 years later. I took some time off from the Halifax at one time but soon realised my mistake and returned to this helpful and trustworthy bank Reviewed on: 14th December 2017

Awful. Quit this bank due to dreadful service and general incompetence, and they even managed to mess up the leaving process

The ultimate problem was that they made it impossible to make payments over internet banking... i gave them 3 months to sort this out - 3 months!! Spent literally hours on the phone to them... and nothing. Takes an age to get a phonecall answered and when they eventually answer, it sounds like a bunch of work experience kids on the phones. The 'complaints department' and especially the 'complaints managers' are the worst of the lot, by some way - inability to answer questions, inability to even listen really, repeated unfulfilled promises of callbacks, just all-round incompetence. Getting a mortgage when your 55

My husband and I were extremely apprehensive about getting a mortgage for the first time at our age. Lyndsey at the Halifax could not have made the process easier, she treated us like people not numbers, explained things very carefully and listened to my husbands boring stories of his train sets lol. It was so easy I wonder why didn't do it before. She even heed us transfer our account from another Building Society, who were awful even though we had banked with them for 27 years they refused us a mortgage. Terrible!

Have been with Halifax for several years without issue - Earlier this year became the victim of my card being skimmed and lost several hundreds of pounds. The 'help' and 'advice' from customer service was appalling and it took almost two months of almost daily phone calls and letters from me before the matter was settled. Nobody seemed to care or want to take any responsibility. As such have closed my current account, credit card and numerous savings accounts and will never use the bank again!
