Totally unprofessional service left my vehicle uninsured in a public car park without prior warning through no fault of my own

After entering into a insurance contact with them answered all the questions in full provided my Australian no claims proof twice. Leaving no room for ambiguity. I received an email telling me all was in order and received my insurance documents. Having paid the year in full. A month later in the middle of my working day I received a call telling me my insurance was being canceled immediately, due to my no claims proof being Australian. I protested that they were aware of this and my car was over an hour away in a public car park. To no avail finally on my way back from work being kept on hold for an hour on and off I was informed I could purchase at a cost to myself a new policy with no, no claims discount. No cover would be provided for my return journey home unless I purchased this. I refused was offered £85 for being kept on the phone for so long. I was promised an email that evening giving me the name of the person who would be dealing with me and a full refund. Neither had appeared by this morning. After another lengthy wait I finally have been put in with someone from their customers relations team. Under contract law I fully disclosed all the information requested paid a year ahead and yet I have been left uninsured, illegally parked on a public car park and at risk of losing the value of my car had anything happened to it before I could purchase another policy. This is totally unacceptable the worst customer experience I’ve received. Reviewed on: 8th November 2018

Halifax car insurance was very easy to purchase and I like the reassurance of being covered by a bank I trust. I also feel that the coverage of the policy is more comprehensive when compared with other providers. Halifax also offered me the best price out of all the providers I was quoted by. It was great to see a reputable company like Halifax in a comparison site for buying car insurance. This allowed me to get cashback when buying. I was even more pleased that when buying the product, I could easily add this to my app with other Halifax products so I can see all Halifax products in one place. How are they able to trade???

My wife has driven for over 40 years , never ever claimed. she had her car stolen and has been treated like the criminal. We are literally traumatized.Disgusting . They have offered her a hardly nothing for her beautiful car, and made us jump through hoops. Her no claim discount as gone to 3 year's and they tried to rip us off to re insure her new car. Money owed overdue from Halifax

Halifax Car Insurance - extra charge as they held wrong information

My car insurance was up for re-newal and the new quote was 50% increase on previous year. So I called them to ask how much it would be if I made a one off payment (I usually pay monthly) before the Customer Rep. would quote a figure she wanted to check the policy details, so I obliged- firstly their records had my and the named driver, driving license dates as the year 2000, which I corrected. Next as I have retired they had to change my occupation - so to these policy changes they expected me to pay £13.50 to the expiry date of the policy. When I asked why they could not state what exactly the additional charge was for. After a log and heated conversation in the Customer Rep hung up the phone. Aster a cooling off period I called back as I did not want them to cancel my policy - regarding the incorrect driving license date, apparently when using comparison sites the option of 25+ years is read by insurance companies as the year 2000?.?? Also retiring from work (I was a par-time minibus driver) increases your insurance risk. In the end I paid the extra charge but will not be renewing with Halifax and will never use them again - I have taken out car insurance with another company so Halifax for the extra £13 you have lost my business and £316 - the worst customer service I have ever come across.
