So happy with my building society.

I have with my friendly local building society for ten years both at my local branch and more recently on line. They treat you like a human being and not a number. They are patient with my enquiries and nothing is too much trouble ever. In this day and age with falling interest rates they give me good notice of changes to the rates and I feel other institutions ride roughshod over their customers so much. Its local and low-tech: I don't use a computer or a smartphone and I prefer using cash day to day. The staff have become friends and are always so helpful. It makes me feel safe. Reviewed on: 31st May 2025

Great interest rates, though they have fallen several times in less than one year of having my account open. At first there was no option for me to withdraw any money so I had to contact CS and they added a button to the account - a bit concerning to have your money in there with no option to withdraw, although it was sorted. The account dashboard could do with updating/ optimising. It's extremely basic and not the easiest to navigate. All in all, these aren't major issues and I trust my money is safe. We're glad you are pleased with the interest rate on your savings account. We will always ensure our accounts provide fair value. Within the last twelve months there has been for reductions to the Bank of England Base rate, and whilst non of our savings products are directly linked, this does have an impact on pricing where we need to manage commercial considerations whilst always ensuring we put our members first. With regards to your feedback regarding our dashboard, I 100% agree with you that this could be improved and we are working hard with out software provider to improve the experience for our members.
