Insurance ripp off

Think your getting a good deal until you have an accident. I had a terrible motorbike accident over a year ago. I took out the extra cover for personal injury. £19.99. When the accident happened my wife called a good lawyer not one of these no win no fee. A few weeks later I get a call from a company claiming to for Hastings. I said I have already appointed a lawyer who has already started work on my case. They didn't tell me that my personal injury payment would not be paid unless they were my lawyers, keep away un trustworthy. Take your money won't pay out. Reviewed on: 22nd November 2016

Avoid!!

Possibly in the middle of receiving the worst service I've ever experienced. No ownership of issues, no updates, no sense of urgency, no help & I have to resort to "complaining" on Twitter every time I want to talk to someone (who then tell me to ring the person I have been trying to ring / email without success!!) And this doesn't even relate to a claim...! Reviewed on: 10th November 2016

Never using Hastings again in my lifetime.

So unhappy with them. V poor customer service. Having to chase at every stage. The accident was 100% not my fault yet they wish to settle on a knock for knock basis and take my £590 excess. Policy automatically renewed at this when or previously the excess was much lower. At a time when you need help, support and to be listened to DONT USE HASTINGS. Don't expect 5 star service when claiming

Perhaps not much different from other insurers, but my first and only experience of claiming on my 6-year-old Hastings Direct policy was fraught with delay on their part, and their unwillingness to pursue the other (at fault) driver's insurers because "we don't generally deal with liability issues", despite me providing them with all the photographic and documentary evidence they could possibly need. Result: I lost my excess and must live with having an "unrecovered" claim which puts up future premiums. Nothing happened to advance the claim without me having to phone them up at each stage to ask why they had done nothing since my last phone call. They told me that they were resolving their claims dept issues, but I'm off elsewhere after this experience. Reviewed on: 21st October 2016
