Very helpful staff who go out of their way to help you (Kendal branch).

I travel a lot for work and I've often run into problems that HSBC has helped me out with. I once had my debit card stolen and it was difficult to get a replacement while I was abroad. However, the helpful staff at Kendal branch enabled me to get a new card promptly, and they also suggested making my mother a signatory to my account so that she can authorise such processes in the future should a similar situation arise. Popped in to pay in a cheque and asked ad advosor in the branch for some advice. She was really helpful and advised me about the best way to minimise the risk of fraud and cheapest way to transfer money between accounts and earn some interest while still having instant access should I need it Reviewed on: 29th June 2016

customer service

I recently had a small problem with my current account and tried to contact hsbc to resolve this over the phone. I rang three times , was left on hold for 30 minutes each time. left messages for someone to contact me.Three weeks later no one has been in touch. I am now trying to contact them via e-mail but so far have just got automated answers. I think it will be easier to change banks Reviewed on: 28th June 2016

No problems

You won't get any huge rates of interest but the service is good and the online banking system is excellent. They seem to keep a close eye on accounts for fraudulent activity and the branch staff are friendly and helpful. Reviewed on: 28th June 2016

Easy to change details

Awful
