Nice banking service

5
It’s a good and nice bank for banking uk Reviewed on: 3rd June 2020

Positive Experience

5
I recently switched to HSBC and I am very happy I did, I thought switching banks would be difficult but it was easy and they put my mind at ease. Since then I have had a better experience overall than with my last bank and definitely think I will be staying with them in the long term. Reviewed on: 15th May 2020

Great value and rewards

I recommend the HSBC Advance account, special rates, good customer service and reliable bank. Reviewed on: 8th May 2020

Fairly consistent service

4
HSBC Advance telephone service is very good but trying to get stuff through the post isn't always easy! I've had missing statements as well as key pad for accessing the internet. Reviewed on: 29th April 2020

Almost famous

4
HSBC is great when it comes to proactively calling you about security issues as well as very good at customer suppport. Not perfect because waiting times for support may sometimes be very long and not famous because they gradually downgrade existing clients by removint key services from their account bundle. I had life insurance and travel removed as well as my trading account. I'm banking with HSBC since 2008 Reviewed on: 28th April 2020

Deserve Zero Stars!! Poor Business Policy hurts HSBC customers

1
It is not possible to speak to anyone at HSBC, so on 31st March I made an online request to discuss my banking arrangements with HSBC. I was informed someone would call me to discuss...... Today (16th April) I missed a telephone call (because I was on another call) and then I received a text message from HSBC, saying: "We have tried to call you but have been unable to get through. Due to the high volume of requests, and to ensure we help as many customers as we can, we will be unable to try again. If you still wish to discuss your banking, please resubmit your request on our website" Bloody jokers!! I'm amazed that HSBC could be capable of dreaming-up a policy where customers are knocked off the queue because they don't immediately pick-up the phone, 16-days after making the request for that call..... By its own actions, HSBC has proven to me that it is is not focussed on my needs. Consequently, it is not the bank I want to do business with. As soon as quarantine is lifted, Im going to close my HSBC accounts and take my money elsewhere. I would be unable to recommend HBSC to anyone. Reviewed on: 16th April 2020

Worst Banking experience

1
I have recently experienced the worst experience with HSBC Bank and can now officially say I believe customers who have written such reviews about the appalling customer service. My story to get to the point and to keep it brief is the following: 1. I applied for a loan, I then was referred to an underwriter called Rene - she made it clear they are the decision-makers of the loan. She then decided to proceed with my application and asked me to hold, where I was left on for more than 3 hours! I then was told based on my credit report they would not be able to lend. However, the story shocks me even further when I asked her what exactly has appeared considering I know from my current score being over 900 my Experian report. She then states the report is from Transunion - who I never heard of until I went online and downloaded a report. I then came to find that all my data was incorrect and mixed in with my sisters who does not live with me and holds a different surname which was shocking - they leaked all my sisters finances to me. Then when disputed with HSBC they stated they will not override the decision - took it to complaints which was another disgusting service whereby you are dealing with incompetent people in Sheffield call Centre! who are literally robotic in their responses. I will now be getting my lawyer involved and have had discussions with the ICO as this was a clear data breach and due to HSBC's negligence has not been resolved. Reviewed on: 16th April 2020

Ok but long setting up process

3
Took nearly a month lots of letters and a few phone calls to even set up online banking, they switched me over before the date agreed so my previous card stopped working when I was at the till before I had a new one to use. Good sign up incentive and staff polite and helpful on the phone but processes not as good as Lloyds in my experience. Reviewed on: 9th February 2020
