Review of the HSBC, Bank Account:

customer service excellent

Visited the branch recently for help with on-line banking registration. Customer service excellent. Asked to wait one minute as had no appointment. When shown to a desk I explained had to be in M and s to finish food shopping before lunh time. Queries all fully explained in a very timely manner. Reviewed on: 24th December 2015

Basic things not up to standard

HSBC was the only bank which accepted me when i first came to UK so i felt obliged to show them some loyalty for a few years. After 5 years i decided to take my business somewhere else. Their joint account offered 2% interest while other banks were offering 4%. Transferring money to my stocks and shares ISA was always a problem as sometimes i had to repeat the process because something crashed mid way. I did not have the same issue with Monzo. My wife had a very hard time transferring euros to her mom's account with HSBC but with Revolut it was a breeze Reviewed on: 28th November 2024

My son is a student and has an a with HSBC.

My son is a student and has an account with HSBC. He has been waiting for a replacement debit card since September, now 3 months. They keep saying it has been sent but it never arrives. We have gone so far as to send him things through the post to make sure the postal system works and they arrived next day. What a terrible way to treat a young student away from home for the first time. He has spoken to several staff but they just don’t care. Luckily he has friends who can give him cash but it really restricts his activities. Shame on you Reviewed on: 27th November 2024

The app is mediocre at best.

The app is mediocre at best. If you value having a branch you can walk up to, HSBC may be for you. If you qualify for their Premier account, the travel insurance is worth it. Otherwise, there are much better alternatives on the market. Reviewed on: 25th November 2024

How nice of you to lie to someone with mental health. Are you trying to kill customers and steal there money? Is it a habit of taking peoples mental health as a joke? 100% on ignoring health conditions and 100% on lying to customers Reviewed on: 20th November 2024

One of worst bank, try opening bank account online 20june, got declined, open account with another bank, other bank after opening ACC contacted after 1 month we will be cancelling the account as cifas marker issued by HSBC. Upon enquiring to cifas , they issued letter and advised. I should contact HSBC. Contacted HSBC, they accepted the mistake and open the account and reassured cifas marker will be removed. I was issued with HSBC card and banking services. Then end of 23 Oct, I was using ATM machine and HSBC card was retained and all online banking services blocked. Contacted the customer service and advised to visit branch for further information. Visited the branch and they advised my account has been closed after reviewed. HSBC not connected, I had to attend branch to get information. I will advise everyone not to apply for bank account with HSBC. I am retired pensioner and left with no access to my money and banking services. Reviewed on: 28th October 2024

HSBC review

As soon as they manager HSBC saw my Israeli passport, they even cancelled online interview with me about opening a corporate account. They did not write a reason, citing their internal rules. The government should oblige banks to give real explanations for refusals to open accounts, so that the client can go to court with this refusal. Today, the rights of bank clients are not protected in any way. Reviewed on: 10th October 2024
