The account is fine.

The account is fine. I have been with Lloyds forever. It was my first bank because my parents banked there and opened my account there. It's a fairly standard current account. No bells and whistles. It does what it says on the tin. I have only come across problems when my debit cards don't work. This happened quite a few times. The staff in branches were usually helpful but it was the phone lines that were awful. They just didn't want to listen and showed no empathy at all. They also treated me like an idiot - very frustrating when I've worked in Banking for over 12 years and am actually a Product Manager for cards...I would dare say, I know what I am talking about. Avoid them like the plague

The worst bank I have ever used with very poor customer service. They froze my account when I received my first salary on it, due to and administration error on their side... but they did not communicate this to me in any form (email, phone, etc), just simply froze it. When I went in to find out what happened the bank tellers was rude and unhelpful, almost treating me like a criminal and told me to come back in 2 weeks time. I challenged her that I will not leave until I get my money back even if means to closing down my account, and voila suddenly there was an open slot to come back the next day. When I arrived then, a very cheerful supervisor told me "hahaha we froze your account, because we made a mistake copying your legal documents, so funny!". Yeah, really funny when you have to pay rent in 2 days and cannot access your money. I stayed with them for 2-3 years despite this, but everytime I entered the bank they had the same "what do you want now?" attitude. Reviewed on: 21st April 2024
