ripped of by big brand name marks and specer

hi i had two months insurance left on my 2004 saab 2.3 turbo car. i changed my car to a small 1997 fiat 900 cc car and asked them to change insurance over for the last two months and they said i couldn't and i would have to have a full 12 months cover. my saab was £630.00 for the year so they gave me a best quote of £1000.00 for a 900 cc car. i couldn't believe it, so i told them that i didn't want it so they are charging me £20.00 admin charge and £50.00 cancellation fee. they should be ashamed of themselves because i didn't want to cancel my policy but they didn't let me put new car on for the rest of my policy, they were just trying to get more money out me. there has been big articles in the papers recently about car insurance companies ripping people off and this a prime example of that. i then went on line and got the same cover for my 900 cc car for £185.00. what would you do £1000.00 or £185.00. i never thought that a company like marks and spencer would stoop as low as some of the companies that are giving insurance companies such a bad reputation but they have. when i phone them back to discuss it they didn't want to know they just passed me to debt collection company and now i will have to go to court. every other insurance company in the past if you changed your car they just swapped it over on your insurance no problem and you paid the difference more or less depending on what car you had. don't go near this company marks and spencer they are just thieving parasites. Most unhelpful corrupt car insurance

Horrible, horrible , horrible .. Don't touch this insurance.... unhelpful money grabbers ...rude staff...they told me they will collect my accident damaged car in for hours, my car right in front of my home had to wait 4weeks to someone to come and collect.... incredibly slow , accusative,corrupt people,unhelpful staff work there.. you are on your own .. don't touch this insurance... Poor service

Had an accident in November 2022 which is still not resolved and have had no contact or updates despite being told that I would get a dedicated claims handler and my insurance premiums have almost trebled in price,also since registering a complaint have still heard nothing. The poorest service I have ever received. Expected more from a premium brand as they were not the cheapest insurers but was happy to pay a little more for piece of mind HOW WRONG WAS I. Price goes up and they are holding my refund for a month

Had an amazing experience with Marks and sparks car insurance. Price was competitive, so I went for it. However after I had paid the year up front which in was tough enough, in order to save some pennies for food over the year, they say I didn't mention a claim on my policy, one that wasn't my fault and had cctv to prove it. They then upped my car insurance by over 100 pounds more. How lovely. Well needless to say, the price was no longer competitive and I was no longer in a mood to continue having them as my Insurers. I asked for a refund, well within my 14 days cooling off period, but they said as my policy does not start till August 28th, I will have to wait 7 or 8 days after that time to recieve a refund?! So now I am without insurance and without the money to afford any other car Insurance. So I will be walking 20 miles to walk come end of August. Can you Imagine the stress this has caused at home? Disgusting in a cost-of-living crisis, the price doubled without warning can barely afford it before but need it to get to work. If it didn't cost more to leave, I would have left instantly, but I simply cannot at the moment! M&S should be appalled by the way it treats people. Reviewed on: 5th August 2023

What a farce

Tried to claim....never ever claimed on any insurance in my life before. Someone reversed into me while I was parked. They admitted liability. Then it began....M&S Insurance.....what a shower. Long story short ...no one cares...no one rings you or texts you. Everyone working from home...babies crying. Their nominated garage would not answer phone....no alternate. On it went....then they said they closed the claim...why...who knows. I had the repair done and paid myself. I couldn't wait any longer and it was so stressful. Be warned M &S are a broker for this... just front this....the real company are people you've never heard of...it's a rubbish outfit of unhelpful,lazy home workers whose target is to wear you down with inactivity and not contacting you so you give up.AVOID.. You can't polish a turd!

Just absolutely embarrassingly awful. It honestly is like somebody has let a bunch of school leavers unattended in the contact center. Your dealing with rude and obnoxious people whose intelligence is certainly Limited, yet have amazingly high levels of arrogance and ignorance. Avoid all costs as truly this will drive you to despair trying to in deal with the garbage that they call staff. I'm trying to cancel my policy and so far I've placed it almost two hours doing something so basic because they are so incapable of dealing with it. Reviewed on: 18th July 2023

Awful Insurance Broker

There's a saying, you find out what a company is really like when things go wrong and sadly if you have to claim then thats when you find out. M&S have just rebadged a poorly run insurance provider, pay the extra, its not worth the hassle if you need to claim, it's all outsourced Reviewed on: 4th July 2023

Scandlous service

I was involved in an incident on the 11th May 2023 and on the 26th June I am still no nearer getting any money to cover the damage on my car caused by the 3rd party. I have spoken to a representative from M&S insurance on numerous occasions and although they make promises to follow this up, it is obvious that it has not been. I am extremely frustrated as anyone in my situation would be. I certainly wouldn’t recommend this company. Reviewed on: 26th June 2023
