I used them as main bank

I did use it until last month as my main bank. But since they keep refusing me for overdraft. I opened new account with natwest while they have a £200 offer. Monzo still stays my secondary bank. But if they keep refusing me I will close it down. Reviewed on: 31st May 2023

Top bank, excellent service and awesome app

I opened up a Monzo current account and immediately they gave me a £250 overdraft facility even though I didnt need or ask for it. The app is dead easy to use and now I have my card pre loaded to my smart watch. In addition they clear wages, cheques etc much earlier than conventional banks and do not charge a fee. Bestest, easiest bank there is, I've tried them all when scooting from 1 to another cashing in on the intro offers but decided to stick with monzo even though there was no intro offer. Reviewed on: 18th May 2023

Lacking features STILL

I have been a customer since beta. Many years. They al too quickly dump features they are working on, for less useful ones such as UI. They even made a US monzo account before implementing IBAN and SWIFT, which only JUST got added, but only for EU, not for US etc... No cheque imaging and no plans for it. You post it via the mail and watch it go missing. It did for me 9 times total. I ended up having to PAY to post it recorded and it STILL WENT MISSING! They say "not enough people use cheques with monzo" no of course they dont as they dont post them in,,,. they use their main bank account which is why so many don't go !full monzo" So still no IBAN/SWIFT outside europe, nor cheque imaging even after about 6 or 7 years. There are banks that have all this and better service too as monzo customer service is shocking. You get passed around and often get told lies and misinformation before they pass you on again.. I simply can't recommend and I have been using them all the time for all these years. This year I opened a bank account with a better bank who are adding features all the time. I have been with Monzo since Beta and its been fantastic to see the bank grow the way it has. Not all changes are always welcomed by everybody but Monzo is sticking with its long term strategies and its good to see. From a customer service point of view ive only ever used the service twice. Once was on the way to the airport bound for the U.S and i had misplaced my Card. The team arranged a new card to be sent and it arrived at the hotel within a matter of days. The other time was a unauthorised payment which actually turned out to be a authorised payment but the team still went through all the steps with me and helped me understand my errors too. Product wise: Im a monzo premium user and virtual cards is just amazing, the only thing i would add is the ability to scan cheques like other banks. Reviewed on: 28th April 2023
