Bad service

Was taken ill on holiday abroad with heart condition and admitted to hospital immediately put claim in via phone/online could not share all documents online, trying to ring is a joke on hold over an hour each time. Then mu online claims got cancelled. Sent documents in post had text acknowledgement f paperwork in post but no claim number. Try to call to progress claim closed Tues and Thursdays other days can't get though been nearly 3 months post claim now. Always used never claimed terrible service Reviewed on: 9th May 2023

I've always received good advice from Nationwide in helping me manage my accounts. Opening this account has been great, providing me with so many additional bolt-ons for a small monthly fee. Well worth it! Reviewed on: 8th November 2018

This is simply the best current account.

I have the Flexplus and it is amazing. It gives me interest, 5% interest savings account on top and insures holidays, phone and break down cover for what works out to be £7 a month (£13 cost pcm- £6.28 pcm interest). It got me a competitive instant access Isa. Oh, and I got £100 for a friend and £100 for me when I signed up. Beat that anybody! Reviewed on: 7th November 2018

Complete waste of premium

My wife and I ( 78yrs and 75yrs ) went on a coach holiday to Killarney in Ireland . My wife had the great misfortune to suffer a fall on a lunch stop on our way to our hotel in .killarney . She was examined at Killarney Hospital and referred to Tralee . It was a bad break that required surgery and a three day stay in hospital. Despite having receipts for 1 doctors initial referral 50 euros. 2 taxi fares , all transport was at our cost 300 euros . 3 Necessary drugs 30 euros . and various incidentals . Nationwide were were completely unhelpful, and in short we will not receive a penny . It took less than 5 minutes on the phone to take our annual premium , and possibly over three phone calls approx 45 minutes of placing obstacles at every point possible. Even to the point of saying that we must provide them with a ferry ticket which none of us had . It was done in a party of 48 people . I am tempted to use some Very colourful language , but I will close by saying that at least Dick Turpin wore a mask . These b******s don’t . . Reviewed on: 19th October 2018

The customer service dealing with issues, suspected fraud is brilliant. Had 4 breakdowns( one in France) - saved in less then an hour fuss and paper free. Lost phone- replaced in 2 days. Couldn't be more happier with their service. Well worth paying the small fee knowing they got your back and won't question you like criminal every time you call them x Reviewed on: 17th October 2018
