Don't believe their hype

I have a credit limit of £5000 on a credit card. Never use it all, always only about £1200. So this month paid an amount (that was the full amount) of £850.00. Evidently the cheque took a while to get there. No, even though there was still £4,2000 credit available, these idiots at Nationwide not only took a late payment of £10 (no objection) but still with £4,200 credit available, they declined a payment of £8.20. Poor support system for credit card customers.

I expected alerts from Nationwide to inform me when payments to my members credit card account. None came, unlike my other credit card accounts. It was my first credit card with Nationwide and did not realise you were expected to 'self-manage' my account, as I was later informed by their representative after Nationwide had lodged an adverse credit report against me because a payment was missed. Awful experience and customer service

I have used Nationwide for years having a premium current account (with the £13/month fee), savings accounts and credit card. I have recently had cause to request a chargeback for a transaction on my credit card however Nationwide have refused to do the chargeback even though the money was taken against the contract I had with the company. 0% purchase credit card

I have a 0% card, I was preapproved for a higher amount initially but then on hard check was offered lower which happens but was slightly frustrating. Reviewed on: 4th June 2024
