Review of the NatWest, Basic Account:

Best bank to go with.

I’ve been with this bank since I was 12. I’m now 23 I had a savings account to start off with so that I can learn about money and savings. You get a card and you can either put money on that car or draw the money off. Once you’ve turned 18 you’ll get a debit card and that card can be used like the savings card but with the ability to use it online and in stores. I’ve never had a problem with my bank growing up and I still use the same bank today because it’s easy to use and they are on the ball with the verify your payment. They constantly keep the app updated and they also keep you updated on what’s new and what’s happening. So an example, I had a Visa card and they emailed me saying that they are changing from visa to master card and at first I was worried about me having to go through lots of paper work etc but they made sure to explain everything in great detail. It was very simple and all my details were the same and nothing had changed except the card itself and it being master card and not visa. They also do student loans and other types of loans as well and it’s very simple to obtain what you need. With this bank you can now change your phone number etc in the banking app, before you had to use a card reader and follow the instructions. Using the card reader isn’t hard but can be tricky to some who have poor eyesight, so I’m glad they added this new feature. With this bank you don’t even have to stay with them, you can start off with a savings account at the same age I did and then go to a different bank of your choice. On of my friends went with NatWest to start off with and then went to Halifax for the point and cash back features… because he loves Costa :) So if you’re looking for a bank to teach your kids about savings and having an easy app to work with then NatWest would be a good choice to start off with.
