The advisers are friendly, knowledgeable, and genuinely helpful. You’re always dealing with real people, both in person and over the phone, and that makes a huge difference, especially when so many customer service roles are being replaced by bots. good customer service, a bit old fashioned

It was a good experience opening a Junior Cash ISA for my children. However the process seems a bit slow and outdated. The online set up for managing the accounts is rather slow and cumbersome. With the app being very limited Reviewed on: 16th January 2026

Amazing Service from a fantastic Building Society

Always have amazing service from the branches and love having the passbooks separate from the modern online banks. Mobile app once registered is simple and easy to use. The Newbury also offer great regular savings reviews face to face with a human being rather than online robots. Reviewed on: 16th January 2026

I am always able to speak to a person when I contact the Newbury and they are always helpful, patient and informative. This is not the case when I try and call my own banking provider. Reviewed on: 16th January 2026

Newbury - a real mutual Building Society for savers.

The customer assistants are helpful, friendly, knowledgeable and polite. The whole process of setting up a savings account was easy and reassuring. It felt good to be back with a truly mutual building society with useful opening hours and a proper savings account book. Reviewed on: 6th January 2026
