A solid credit card.

Sainsbury’s have always ran my MasterCard efficiently and don’t mind sending me a monthly statement. They support open banking. I rang them recently to reinstall my app on a new phone and the chap j spoke to was really pleasant and very well informed. Reviewed on: 1st February 2022

Sainsburys Bank Nectar Credit Card from Hell

Easy to purchase, but monstrous to use. I am charged every month with huge interest within my 28 months interest free contract although I make some card spending and make monthly repayments. The worst credit card ever. Ancient bank system. Takes days for money transfer when making payments to the card. Why not pay interest for few more days.... Pure money stealing and nothing you can do about it.. AVOID AVOID AVOID AVOID AVOID AVOID AVOID AVOID!!! Reviewed on: 18th November 2016

Personal Loan. Stone age bank

If you want to phone a bank to do everything. This bank is for you as that is the only way they do business. For a new bank you would expect to have a decent website to login into to manage your accounts. They don't even have a page to login. I can't email them. They can't email me. When I phone them to ask them outstanding balance they took 12 hours to phone me back with a number as they had to manually calculate my balance. It has taken over 16 days to get a refund as I overpaid them. I still have not received my refund. Reviewed on: 15th November 2016

Brilliant customer service

I spotted some unexpected but very small charges in my credit card statement and when I contacted them about it, they responded promptly, explained the charges adequately and even removed them even though I was in the wrong. Reviewed on: 9th September 2016

Don't give them your custom

I've had a sainsburys credit card for less than 6 months. In that time they've failed to set up a direct debit correctly, failed to register payments made, sent me overdrawn by taking a double payment and now my card doesn't work online. They tell me the problem lies with all the different retailers the problem has occurred with and it can't possibly be the only common denominator - sainsburys bank. The staff in the call centre are disinterested and their favourite phrase is 'we can't do that' - usually in response to a request to fix a problem of their making. Sainsburys - you should disassociate from whomever is providing this whitelabel service- they're simply appalling. Reviewed on: 8th September 2016

Taking out a credit card

It was great while the Nectar points lasted....

The credit card is fine and I have never had an issue with the customer service but once the bonus period is over the card has no real benefits and as such sits poorly in the current competitive credit card market. Reviewed on: 30th August 2016
