Stay Well Clear of Santander

The worst bank and customer service on the planet! I have had a lock placed on my account and the reason they gave me was that i have used contactless payment too much. Now considering i have spent the last 3 weeks in Singapore and never use the card as i dont want to pay their extortionate rates. I transfer from the bank to Wise. Now they have blocked it and tell me i have to buy something in Singapore and put my pin number in to release the block. Its the only way i can unblock it! Santander are a joke and i shall be closing the account down because of this. Complete failures! still waiting on the line for the fraud team to unblock this bar and been waiting over an hour so far. i am stuck in Singapore without access to my money. I'm a 77 yr old pensioner and unfortunately I was scammed and duped into downloading the "AnyDesk App" to help open a "MoonPay" account to transfer money held in a "Blockchain" wallet to my Santander account. Instead of recieving funds I lost money. Be very aware, in finding myself in this horrible situation Santander are quite heartless, and so too ActionFraud.police.uk. The morale of the story is don't get scammed because despite what your told nobody will help you. least of all Santander if you bank with them. Reviewed on: 1st April 2024
