No Accidents, but still double insurance prices

3
Hi, I do a lot with Tesco. Shopping, mobiles(4), car and house insurance. I naturally use Tesco to save money and it's a great service, close to my house and with EV charging for my EV. However, this year my insurance doubled and I have a no accident history, but good drivers are being penalised for the bad drivers. Why?, because we pay for good insurance, not like the rubbished offered by go compare, whoses companies will not pay out or want enourmouse £500+ payments, in the event of a crash. These insurances are rubbish and all should have fully comp. Where I live in Bermondsey, London, the driving is very poor and many young men can by a fast car for £3000, not insure the car and drive faster than the speed limit. I have a front screen camera and some of the footage would make a movie with scrapes, accidents or stupid driving. I have a safe driving app and great score. None of this counted and I have children like everyone else. So, I paid up and sucked it in, but next year, if it doubles again, the car will go and I love my Nissan EV, Tesco points or not!!!!! Useless Windscreen Cover

3 weeks to book replacement windscreen from their suppliers Nation Windscreens only to be cancelled on the day and told to wait another 2 weeks but they will probably cancel again-unbeleivable. Reviewed on: 22nd August 2023

Thieves, avoid

Most Awful experience I ever had with, despite I'm having full breakdown cover, they've left me stranded in the dark in the middle of nowhere with 2 little kids and a newborn and they're team behind the phone are very rude and incompetent Reviewed on: 14th August 2023

Use Any car insurance besides them

Run by allowed of crooks and pirates do anything not to pay a claim, rather take the risk and use no insurance than pay another penny to these scammers. Reviewed on: 13th August 2023

Praise where Praise is due.

My claim was dealt with, my car assessed, repaired and returned all within a couple of weeks. There were 2 ladies in particular whom I spoke with from Tesco Bank, (Elaine and Sue,) who were incredibly kind, helpful and patient. I was kept updated throughout the whole process. Can't fault my whole experience with them. Reviewed on: 8th August 2023

Avoid Tesco Car Insurance

1
Avoid them like the plague. I've been with them for a few years now, I'm a 56-year-old driver with a 7-year no-claims bonus. I've been paying £26 a month and they had always been great with my car insurance, even lowering my monthly premiums from £29 odd. Last night I received an email to renew as I do every year, but for some reason, they'd increased my payments to £60 odd. I was furious and called them this morning, stating that an agent of theirs actually told me after I changed my address, that the premiums wouldn't change. When I asked the agent why the increase, all he replied was, "I'm sorry we can't disclose that information as the underwriters don't tell us anything, they just increase premiums when they like." My response was simply that this was ridiculous and disgusting and I won't renew. What's the point of being with you people if you do things like this and on top of that, you refuse to give us a reason why! Well. I shall be going elsewhere - in fact, I'm now, as of this morning, with Quote-Me-Happy, paying £25.33 a month. There you go, times are hard and it's very unfair that these greedy companies think they can call the shots as and when. Reviewed on: 4th August 2023

Ludicrous 'service' - not paying out after a no fault claim

1
My husband had a no fault car accident in early December 2022. We have experienced absolutely awful service since contacting Tesco who his car insurance was with: 1) Tesco arranged for his car to be collected urgently to be repaired. It sat outside our house for FOUR WEEKS despite extensive chasing. 2) Took months to get repaired at the mechanics Tesco told us we had to use 3) We had to pay the excess at the garage 4) Tesco agreed it's a no fault claim so we are entitled to getting the excess back 5) They say the other party are contesting how much the repair cost and therefore Tesco won't give us back the excess yet (this shouldn't be our problem - it's why we pay insurance!) 6) The accident happened early December, it's now August and despite months and months of chasing Tesco still won't give us back excess. Absolutely outrageous! How on earth is it legal to keep our money, they agree accident wasn't our fault and the fact they are arguing with the other party shouldn't be our problem. AWFUL AWFUL SERVICE. Nobody takes accountability and I would avoid this company like the absolute plague. Reviewed on: 1st August 2023

When I claimed they did not repair
