Exceptional customer service!

The adviser that I spoke to was Katherine A. She was pleasant and knowledgeable. I needed assistance in transferring funds between accounts and she kindly took the time to wait on the phone with me while she talked me through what I needed to do. Don't do AI - keep talking to people

I tried to open an ISA account with Family BS and had inadvertently sent the funds to the wrong location . I tried to research this via my own bank ( one of the large clearing banks , and could not get a response from the web site and knpw from previous experience that since the branch closures they are impossible to contact . The only option was to contact Family BS - I did and was helped by Mr David Hobbs who was not only very helpful but also managed to calm me down and expla... Reviewed on: 21st February 2025

I purchased the Windfall Bond from Family Building Society ...

I purchased the Windfall Bond from Family Building Society as I liked the chance of winning a cash prize. However, what I didn’t realise was that each month, blank tickets are entered into the draw, meaning that if a blank ticket is picked, no member wins a prize. I spoke to a staff member and was told that this happens quite often, which shocked me. I question whether this is a fair approach. Reply from Family Building Society Dear Richard, We're sorry to hear of your concerns regarding the Windfall Bond. In terms of the blank tickets, as of 1 October 2024 the prize structure was changed and there are no blank tickets entered into the prize draw. This change in prize structure also significantly increased the number of prizes available each month. This was communicated to all Windfall Bond holders.
