Beyond contemptible.

Say they will return funds same day - Always take two days. Avoid unless prepared to endure dismal service and broken promises. Reviewed on: 25th October 2022

Reply from Family Building Society I’m sorry to learn that you are dissatisfied. If a withdrawal instruction is received by 3pm on a working day, we will process the payment the same day and the receiving bank will receive the funds no later than the end of the following working day. This is clearly set out in our terms and conditions and online. Response date: 16th November 2022

Easy to Use

I've had an ISA with the company for 8 years. The interest rate isn't always the highest, but it is in the mix. It is very easy to manage the account online and there have been no issues with the account. Reviewed on: 12th October 2022

One of the absolute WORST building societies I have dealt with

The staff at family Building society appear to make it their ambition to make a simple matter as difficult as they can. A good reputation takes years to attain, a bad one seconds with a few click of a mouse. Reviewed on: 11th October 2022

Easy set-up / Great service

Had money to invest after a previous fixed rate bond with another Building Society had matured. Their 2 Year Tracker Bond was a product of interest due to the recent regular increase in the base rate. It was easy to apply for and set up on-line. The next day I saw that a newer version of the product was offering a better rate of interest. Wrote hoping they could switch me as it was within the first 15 days. Received a call the next day and after the standard security questions they confirmed the money would be moved. Checked on-line and saw that they have actioned my request. Do not open a windfall bond

Despite quite substantial deposit. Never a winner. It’s a bit of a con pays lower interest on. Said of prize draw Reviewed on: 16th September 2022

However, the Windfall Bond is made up of two elements: It offers security for your savings, paying a variable rate of interest linked to the Bank of England Bank Rate. Additionally, there is the possibility of winning one of our monthly cash prizes. This is roughly a 1 in 714 chance of winning a single draw, multiplied by 12 draws. Of course, this means that you’re significantly more likely not to win a prize than to win one, but there’s always a chance! If you decide the Windfall Bond is no longer for you, you can close your account by giving 35 days’ notice, via the secure messaging facility available within the Online Service, by phone or by writing to us. So straightforward to invest

Competitive savings interest rate

This account came to my attention after researching best easy access savings rates on moneyfacts.co.uk and thisismoney.co.uk. Terms clear and concise. Account opening simple and straightforward, with ability to fund account immediately after opening. Perfect for my needs. Reviewed on: 22nd July 2022

you emailed me stating that I had an unread message so I logged in and read it which thanked me for investing some money in my account which I then opened to check and yet the money was not showing in the account !!!!! Reviewed on: 28th June 2022

The best telephone customer service ever!

How refreshing. I have been completely fed up with other banks and building societies whenever contacting them. They keep you waiting, don't listen and everything just becomes unnecessarily difficult. I spoke to Lisa this morning who was the model of efficiency, professionalism and courteousness.
