Ethical banking a win win.

"Money makes the world go round" is a truism and until recently it has also been the way the rich and powerful exercise control, manipulating major world trends. At Triodos I know that my money will only be use ethically and so is making a small contribution to off set the poor record of the major banks. They are still promoting fossil fuel extraction, nuclear arms and exploitation of poorer countries resources for the sake of profits and further enrichment of the already wealthy. Triodos shows that ethical banking can be efficient and effective without harming the planet and increasing the already gross wealth disparity. Reviewed on: 25th January 2022

Banking with heart

I have, for the first time been able to bank with more conscience and feel reciprocated by the values driven communication that comes back from Triodos. I have to admit to not really understanding the depth of trauma around money. As I move through my own life journey, this starts to make much more sense in relation to the whole, in ways that spark a far more compassionate and accountable approach for me. Transparent, ethical and great service

I have been a personal account customer since the bank first offered such accounts. Customer service is excellent - quick and efficient; On-line banking is well thought out and provides everthing one needs. Best of all, the bank is totally transparent about its lending, including providing profiles of the businesses it lends to. In fact all the things which the major banks fail at. Efficient Banking, peace of mind in consumer choice.

The point of being socially conscious from the customer of a bank’s perspective is to carry on a sustainable way of working that benefits the people who use the bank as well as the area the bank is doing business in. The idea of sustainable banking isn’t new. But Triodos does what it says with honesty and integrity- it’s not just a marketing strategy. It’s a proper consumer choice for people who want to make a difference. I was skeptical at first that it would be competitive at the service level with bigger banks but I took a leap of faith having been with an original bank for 35 years. I wasn’t disappointed Triodos has the right App for my phone and the right phone service and communications for my needs. I’m also a part of the online community so I can see it’s investments in action in a future focussed world. This is the way of the future for banking as the world struggled for peace, stability, climate change control and ethical and moral obligation of large businesses. Reviewed on: 25th January 2022

One of few options for ethical and sustainable banking

I opened a Triodos account after the Co - op was bought out by hedge funds, and it's ethical future looked uncertain. Triodos has a long standing policy of supporting all the good stuff - communities, local businesses, sustainable housing and companies who are engaged with social justice, the environment and ethical practices. Most mainstream banks are even now dragging their feet over divesting from even the most environmentally and socially damaging projects, such as oil exploration, gas pipelines, mega agriculture involved with deforestation and loans to dubious regimes - amongst many others. Triodos made a positive choice right from the start to be different, sadly it still largely holds that position. Reviewed on: 24th January 2022

Very happy with my Triodos Current Account

I've happily invested in their Ethical Stocks & Shares ISAs for several years, and was waiting for them to get round to opening a current account. They did so recently and I'm very happy with its usability and performance. It suits my needs perfectly, especially as it comes from, arguably, the most ethical bank on the planet right now.
