My card got hacked so I cancelled the card. Asked for a new card to be sent out . Card was sent to the wrong address, when I contacted them to ask where my card was they wouldn’t tell me the address it was sent to. They just said it wasn’t sent to the address I asked. I Tried the same process again giving them my address 3 times making sure they had the correct address. Again the same thing happened, I’ve never had an issue receiving mail at this Address, it’s now been one month no card. Tried several times to resolve the problem and the consultants were of no help whatsoever. This card has a few good things going for it in the rewards program but thats about it. This is the first review I’ve ever wrote custom service is the worst, once your card is locked from being hack you cannot access to see any transactions. I wanted to cancel my card and pay out the balance but couldn’t access my profile to double check the transactions. End of the day worst experience cannot recommend this card whatsoever Reviewed on: 10th February 2025

Simply the worst service I've ever received

I don't know where to start describing how awful Virgin Money is. I had a Virgin Atlantic affinity credit card, which was through MBNA. The service was pretty good. Then they forced me to switch to Virgin Money. That's when the nightmares started. It's hard to imagine how the service could be any worse. Everything about the online service, verification process, telephone service and general attitude is worse than any comparable offering I've ever come across. Avoid at all costs. Disappointing

Took out a virgin credit card on 0% finance deal for balance transfers. Email from Virgin went into my junk email & they did not send anything in post so I was a day late setting up direct debit for first payment. Therefore the promotion was 'invalid' & they charged a very high interest rate. Customer services team difficult to get through to & very unhelpful . . . Reviewed on: 4th December 2018

Good cashback perk

Cashback perk can be very advantageous if used smartly. Email newsletter is good with offers and competitions. Managing through phone isn’t the easiest as some competitors - no app with iphone finger scan. Reviewed on: 19th November 2018

Terrible service

Really not helpful, I wouldn’t say any part of the process of account set up or maintaining has been a good one. The likes of other banks go out of their way to help and understand you. Virgin is very one track minded and this isn’t helpful. A new account, didn’t know payment date as not received a statement then interest charged now. Other banks would only charge a late payment fee. But virgin don’t. Terrible really. I would never recommend to anyone. Reviewed on: 17th November 2018

Terrible service, no app, online payment is so difficult to access.

They have no app, which is ridiculous and basically unheard of. Because of this and the draconian security needed to sign onto their web portal, and admittedly moving house, being in the middle of renovations and living out of boxes, I was a day late with a payment and they removed my interest free offer. I called as soon as I realised, waiting for nearly half an hour to speak to someone. The customer service then made me wait a week for a call back, offering a conversation, but in the end just said they couldn't help again. They also called in the middle of my weekend. Knowing I'd be lucky to get another call back I regretfully took the call. The woman said she had no authority to do anything. Not sure why I waited for the call. Awful product and yet worse customer service

I signed up for the new virgin Atlantic air miles card which replaces my previous mbna virgin Atlantic card. The approvals process took 4 weeks, the card should have taken 7-10 days from approval to arrive. It arrived on day 12 at which point I had already ordered a replacement card, delaying things by a further week. When the cards finally turned up they were blank, ie no 16 digit number, no name and no start or expiry dates. A replacement was ordered and took another week to arrive. Virgin money gave me incorrect international payment details on 3 occasions causing 4 missing payments and a hugely embossing conversation with my customers causing a loss of business. Due to a low spending limit of 5k it takes 4 transactions to make an 18k payment and it takes 5 working days to clear the balance and reset available spending allowance. Two emails of complaint have gone unanswered and it’s three weeks since they were made. An automated email was received to prove that the emails did find their way into the correct mailbox. Over the phone staff contradict each other, are not trained adequately and do not deliver on promises to call back. It feels like the company were established yesterday and are still going through training, Unfortunately if I want to keep collecting air miles with virgin Atlantic I have no option than to tolerate this ameateurish service.
