Easy simple account

The current account is simple, easy to use and has a few great features. The app lets you do almost anything with your money including cashing cheques and managing your budget. Any transfers I've made to my savings account or to my partner at another bank have gone through almost instantly, whereas his bank takes a day or two to actually move the money. I've hardly ever had to go into a branch, but whenever I have I've had a good experience. Reviewed on: 6th April 2023

Long way to go

While the Virgin Money Essential Current Account itself is decent, the accompanying mobile app leaves a lot to be desired. The app's lack of features and poor design make it frustrating to use, and it is in need of a major overhaul. If you value a good mobile app for your banking needs, this account may not be the best option for you. Reviewed on: 3rd April 2023

Odds on being ariound in 5 years

What a horrible organisation to deal with. Call centre sends you to website which sends you back to call centre which tells you that you have the wrong department but promise they won't cut you off this time when they put you on hold. (They do). No one takes ownership at all. Keep your money under the mattress instead! The Clydesdale was not always great to deal with but were much better than this shower! Customer service is quite good and interest rates are quite high but the app is useless as there's no features at all except to make a transfer. Reviewed on: 19th March 2023
