Review of the Admiral, Car insurance:

Well Priced and very Helpful

We have 2 cars insured with Admiral and the cost is much better, we’ve found their online info very helpful and easy to use. Reviewed on: 14th August 2022

Unethical renewal

1
Impossible company to ever deal with. From year to year they decided to put my annual insurance up by 400 within 12 months and it is actually impossible to cancel your renewal. I have NOT has any accidents or claims and they still try this, thinking people don't keep track of their insurances. Once i figure out how to cancel my renewal, i will be seeking an alternative company - USwitch have quoted me a price of 475 pounds cheaper for the exact same cover! Reviewed on: 4th July 2023

Insurance renewal rip off

2
I had been with Admiral insurance for both car and house for in excess of seven years and I've always just auto renewed however this year their auto renew which I had to chase was more than 150 pounds more than a another company I challenge Admiral and they knocked off a very small fee however it did not match with the companies so I purchase insurance through the other companies and awaited to see if Admiral would auto renew they did so by taking the money four days after the renewal date I'll called at the early opportunity to explain that thier renewal figure had been to expensive and I had gone elsewhere they proceeded to tell me that day would cancel the renewed policy but would charge me. Ichallenge this on the basis that I don't agree with auto renewal their price was extortionate and as a custom of seven years I would expect a little bit more understanding given the cost of living crisis the first call ended up with the operator hanging upon me the second call was far far better I spoke to a female who listen to my problem and then agreed to refund the fully without the cancellation fee these insurance companies should not be able to charge cancellation fees when it's again an auto renewal policy as the customer hasn't asked for it and our automatically put into these auto renew course is generally without even knowing Admiral need to review these policy and be a little bit more sympathetic to their customers given the current financial climate Reviewed on: 26th June 2023

Price and service abysmal

1
The price has gone up by about 25% for the same car, another year no claims and another year driving. On top of the pricing being terrible you also get passed on through an obscene amount of different departments each knowing less than the one before if you ever call their customer “care”. They have been the insurance company from hell and I wouldn’t recommend. Reviewed on: 24th June 2023

AVOID AT ALL COSTS

1
if i could give zero stars then i would. this company offers you great prices for your insurance with theyre multi option however i have had to make a claim against my policy which has taken 3 months for them to deal with, no updates from them and when i call them they say they cant give any further info other than its being dealt with. all the time i am still paying the insurance and tax on the vehicle. all this for them to come back and reject the claim. trying to resolve this issue with them is pointless as they are unwilling to discuss in further detail and i am now having to complain to the ombudsman and also look at small claims court options at my own cost to get this sorted. absolute joke of a company. AVOID AT ALL COSTS. Reviewed on: 22nd June 2023

Disappointing Experience with Admiral Insurance

1
I am writing this review to express my deep disappointment with Admiral Insurance. I have been a loyal customer for nearly five years, and throughout this period, I have never made a single claim. However, my recent experience with their service has left me feeling frustrated and taken advantage of. When it came time to renew my car insurance, I was shocked to discover that Admiral Insurance was attempting to charge me double the amount I had paid the previous year. This sudden and unreasonable increase in premium left me perplexed, especially considering my long-standing history as a customer and my clean claims record. Upon contacting their customer service, I expected a reasonable explanation or a resolution to this issue. Instead, I was met with dismissive responses and a lack of empathy towards my situation. The representatives I spoke to seemed more interested in defending their exorbitant pricing rather than addressing my concerns. It is disheartening to see a company that claims to value its customers engage in such deceptive practices. As a loyal customer, I had hoped for transparency, fairness, and recognition of my loyalty. Instead, I feel like Admiral Insurance is more focused on maximizing profits at the expense of customer satisfaction. I strongly urge others to think twice before considering Admiral Insurance for their car insurance needs. It is evident that they prioritize their own financial gains over the well-being of their customers. Such tactics undermine trust and loyalty, leaving customers feeling deceived and mistreated. I have decided to take my business elsewhere, where I hope to find an insurance provider that values its customers and treats them with the respect they deserve. Sincerely, Reviewed on: 21st June 2023

Terrible... and the worse...

1
New levels of incompetence - we have home emergency and home insurance with Admiral. We had a sewage pipe issue so contacted Admiral. To date we have had lots of visits, multiple sewage leaks, different parts of Admiral arguing about who does what, a trench in our garden for the summer, a porta-loo and 6 tonnes of soil on the drive and no timeline for actual resolution. Staggering, especially when the health risks associated with sewage is considered and the accident risks associated with a sewage collection trench is considered. The hours list on the phone trying to get them to do anything is shocking. Would not advise thr use of Admiral - they are there to take the money but do not get the job done when you need them.... I had a crash, poor communication 9 months later

1
I’ve insured with Admiral for 5 years and they’ve always provided good service and good quotes. However, I had an accident in October (2022) when a Romanian lorry driver hit me causing me to spin in-front of the lorry and then pushing me down a dual-carriage way, side on for over 200m. I am lucky to be alive, and the car was a write off. I collected all of the lorry driver’s information, including his ‘insurance information’ and the phone numbers for the witnesses that were there, all admitting that it was the truck driver’s fault. The Police also attended the scene. I provided all of the contact data, including photographs to Admiral. After a couple days, I received the first quote (which I was un-happy with) and then the second. I noticed that the mileage was incorrect being 1,000 miles over the true count, and they offered me a measly £50 to correct this. Unfortunately, I had to accept the offer that they provided me with, and I carried on to pursue the claim. However the key issue is that Admiral had not established whose fault the accident was and therefore the prospect of higher insurance premiums and a loss of no claims bonus hung over me. I was told at the end of December that “Further to our previous correspondence, we are sorry we’ve been unable to deal with your complaint just yet, as we have been dealing with other customers.” This should not have happened as every customer should matter equally to them. That was the last communicative response until I had to chase again… I then started to chase Admiral after Christmas 2022, with multiple emails trying to figure out what was going to happen as I’ve now lost my no claims bonus and it’s affecting my insurance quotes. On the 19th April (2023), I received a reply from them stating “We apologise for not providing a recent update on your claim. The Motor Insurance Bureau confirmed the third-party vehicle appears to be uninsured.” This was the last response I heard from the company and I’ve been chasing for a reply since. I’m 22 years old and I’ve never had any points on my licence. I am not satisfied that Admiral have pursued the Romanian lorry driver or the operator of the truck. I submitted another compliant with them today and they said my claim ‘was on an old system’ which they do not use anymore and the person (who was very nice) didn’t know how to use it. Nearly 9 months down the line, this claim is dwelling on my mind since the accident happened. If I hadn’t chased and waited hours on phone trying to get through to someone useful (to some degree), I feel that they would of just let this claim slip under the rug and be not spoken about. This is the reason why I’m putting up a 1-star trust pilot review now as I’ve given them enough chances to get in contact with me since the accident nearly 9 months ago. When it comes to insurance quotes, they are great, when it comes to claims they really aren’t. Reviewed on: 16th June 2023

More inconvenience and grief

1
Claim number ending 142. Had a claim going through which was all sorted and i got paid out. Then I recently received the pay out again (almost £8000). It is proving very difficult to give the money back. I did an online chat and they said they couldn't do anything until they could see it had gone out twice on their end. Then I did another online chat and they said they would pass a note on to the accounts team. The accounts team then called and I asked them to call me today (2/6/23) between 1pm-2pm (my lunch break). Nobody has called and this is distressing enough as it is, as this claim was to do with a car crash. I just wanted to get this sorted as it's going on and on. I do except some compensation for the distress and inconvenience that this has been causing. Reviewed on: 2nd June 2023
