Don't Do It

Before you consider taking out insurance with these thieves....stop....put your debit card down. Don't believe their "animal friends" nicey nicey name/image...these guys will whatever they can to not pay you the money you're owed. My dog has been left lame and in pain for nearly 2 months while I've had two different claims denied. I've now just had to bite the bullet and pay for it myself. I've had insurance with them for 4 years and never claimed a penny. Then when I need them... guess what, they try to wriggle out of paying and couldn't care less about your pet. Best advice I can give you is to direct debit the money you would pay to them monthly into a savings account and further down the line if/when you need it you will have a pot of money to at least lessen the burden Reviewed on: 2nd March 2021

Good claims process. Easy to follow, super advisor to keep you in the loop and speedy payment. Unfortunately unfair price raise this year but still affordable and trusted Reviewed on: 6th April 2017

Super Value

I have been with Animal Friends for the last 5 years and in this time have had 2 pets need emergency surgery. I have found their customer advisors to be extremely helpful and compassionate and have had no problems claiming on my insurance. The fees are fantastic and they offer super peace of mind. No major increase in premium

Shocked that this year's cat insurance is much the same price as last year's. Never known a company be like this. I was all set to find a cheaper quote through the comparison sites but no need. Shocked I tell ya! Reviewed on: 13th October 2016

No quibble service

We have a very active cocker spaniel and twice in the last year have had to submit claims for his crashing through undergrowth injuries. Both times the claim was processed without a problem. Reviewed on: 27th August 2016

Amazing company - took away a lot of stress.

Animal Friends offers competitive rates and good customer service. I would only like to feedback that they could provide more information as to the options available. We went for the minimum as things get very confusing when it comes to insurance and, unfortunately, we ended up paying £1,500 for our cat to have an operation that wasn't covered on the insurance. my vets do not accept their insurance! so i would have to pay, and then claim back from them. they barely cover any conditions and they put my premiums up after a year, even though i never claimed. would not recommend. Reviewed on: 22nd July 2016

Cannot read or update their systems correctly. Now in debt because of their poor communication skills!

Experience of making a claim has been appalling. They seem incapable of reading and understanding basic English. From incorrectly updating my records from my initial claim form to failing to notice details that may have invalidated my claim. They have given me information that has led me to continue with treatment but are now refusing to continue with the clsim, without money I do not have. Don't touch them with a very long barge pole. Really good competitive quote

This is the second year i have chosen Animal Friends for my pet insurance. The quote was very competitive even on renewal ( we all know the price shoots up when renewal time comes around) . I rang them up and had a really good customer assistant on the end of the line. She made sure my cover was what i needed and even managed to shave a little off my already decent quote.
