As quite a few others here, after many years of paying my fees and never claiming, I found myself in need of a doctor consultation online and I tried to obtain one through their promised online doctor appointment service. The first obstacle, you have to do it through their app: this turns out to be cumbersome, unfriendly, unnecessarily complicated, obtuse and over demanding. I am not sure if this app has been designed with an intent of taking the mickey or just by a bunch of unqualified ignorant but arrogant dunces. Never mind, however, once you have done all you had to do, including finding an access code which should be in your policy but isn't, you find that it does not work. It just doesn't. There is a number for support but it does not answer except with a message that they don't take calls because of the current situation. Thanks a bunch, you thieves. Shame on you Aviva, I spent so many thousands with you over the years and this is what I get the first time I need you. Shame.

I kept apologising and he was so reasurring and didn't mind holding. Really appreciate the dedication during this difficult situation the country is currently facing

Trying to get my pension transferred to another provider has been like pulling hen’s teeth. Started the process in early December and still ongoing. They are requesting rafts of information going back more than 16 years - seems to me just an excuse to keep my money.
Keep well clear of these arrogant people !

Shame they have turned to such a bad company

I know they are a business but have their business plan in a mess. Instead of making money from loyal customers I think they are on a push to make as much as possible by ripping off loyal customers. Policies flying up, service dropping like a led balloon. I have made one claim in 5 years and been stung. £7,000 out on policies and £600 of treatment which I had to pay £300 of. Policy went up £400 this year for daring to use policy. What made things even worse was having decent hospitals taken off my list without information. Son had seizure and was sent 2 hours to a house in a shocking part of London down some rough side street into someone's dirty house Aviva called a clinic. I called so called clinic to ask where I could parked and was told "that's not my problem, find one yourself".
Shocking from start to finish.

The claims assistant was desperate to categorise my referral to a cardiologist as a pre-existing condition. I reported slight heart tremors in June but was given the ok by doctor. He asked how long had I had the heart tremors and he was desperate for it to be 3 months so it was before my policy started. No it isn’t the same thing, no it isn’t a pre-existing condition. I now have to wait four weeks for a doctors appointment to fill out a form then a further five days for Aviva to make a decision. Unacceptable. I would be seen quicker with the NHS (that’s if I haven’t collapsed with heart failure by then).

Aviva are completely crooked, they failed to settle my claim after a four and a half month wait
I provided everything they asked and more including photos of the accident
My vehicle had been involved in a hit and run
Aviva disputed that it could of happened the way it did and may as well called me a liar although I had been with aviva for ten years having never had a claim in the past from them. The acted in a very unprofessional manor and never returned my calls even when I called them repeatedly over a four and a half month period
Very bad business in my opinion
Completely unprofessional
I’m taking them to court
And shall continue to post my experience.
I hope you don’t find out the hard way, like I did,

When you look at there own web reviews page, it paints a picture of happy customers, but all the reviewers on other sites seem to feel the same way as I do

My employer has just swapped to Aviva as my Pension Provider and I am already having a very bad experience. The Website is very hard to use when it comes to swapping from my existing investment option to different funds. I tried phoning up their customer support and was put through to the wrong department. It has already taken 27 minutes (still waiting) to register a complaint. I haven't even managed to get through to someone that knows what they are doing yet!
My recommendation is to swap your money to a more professional organisation such as Hargreaves Landsdown, AJ Bell or Fidelity.

We actually decided to go to Aviva as a Customer after our car was in a bump.
We was parked when a elderly Gentleman drove into us.
He was a customer of Aviva and they got in touch with my husband immediately and got our car fixed. We was so impressed my husband took out Aviva Car Insurance and it was great value.
