Great service.

Had our garage burnt down last year, very traumatic to wake up to that, and Bank Of Scotland were great with swift service, insurance agents out to check over everything, and efficient resolution of problem (complicated by asbestos in garage ceiling).

Bank of Scotland came in and helped me when no one would. I was struggling t get a bank account that didn't charge a fee after losing my bank account with RBS. I had finally gotten a job, after a long period of unemployment, but it hinged on my getting a bank account. They were helpful quick and above all so respectful and made sure I was treated with the respect all are due. I cant recommend them enough.

Having had home insurance with The Bank of Scotland for 18 years, and the misfortune to have had a fire in my home almost 9 months ago, I have been living the nightmare of trying to get this dysfunctional, unprofessional, uncoordinated, underhanded organisation to, at least attempt, to complete the required reparations in order that I can move back to my home and out of temporary accommodation. In 9 months, all told, less than 1 weeks work has been completed. I live in a 1 bedroom flat, I currently pay them over £100 per month for home insurance and in compensation for the utter hell they have subjected me to I have been offered £500-I’ve paid them more in insurance in the period I’ve waited for them to arrange the repairs! Don’t be like me and learn the hard way that loyalty means nothing to this company.

Banks in general are getting bad press, but only because they didn't put up a fight over PPI. Loads of people took it out and were not mis-sold but are allowed to claim it all back. Many benefitted from having it. Petrol companies and supermarkets get away with murder. Support your local Bank whoever they are. I am with Bank of Scotland and trust them completely. Honest staff doing a great job. I have never received anything but good advise, friendly service and not been mis -sold anything.

This bank is fine and offers quite good service and is reasonably competitive. Things go horribly wrong however should any sort of error or query arise. In that situation it rapidly becomes crystal clear that the Bank of Scotland has no resources set aside to sort out any issues promptly. Whenever a problem arises customers can guarantee that they face a long struggle and will have to speak to numerous employees before things are sorted out. If or when things are finally rectified the customer may be given a verbal apology however even this can't be counted upon.

On 3 separate occasions the Bank of Scotland have made mistakes of the simplest nature, most recently they changed my surname with no reason or even informing me. Despite the fact that the errors were straightforward it took 2 months for the quickest one to be solved. One in fact took numerous calls & emails and was finally rectified after 11 months.
