How a Building Society should be.

I like the customer care, I've found it the best of any B.S. I've had accounts with. The staff make you feel like you're important to them and always do their best to help. Their web site is easy to use and if there is a problem I've always been able to speak to a real person. Please don't change! Reviewed on: 4th June 2020

Nice to visit a local branch

I visited the Oldfield Park branch to open an account for my mother and register myself as the power of attorney. I saw Gemma who made the whole process stress free and straightforward. It was lovely to be able to call into a local branch and do things face to face. Very pleased with the service I received. Reviewed on: 15th October 2025

The people that work there are so helpful and friendly.

I visited the Oldfield Park branch recently and was served by Ella. The people who work there are so helpful and friendly. However, the standard of IT was not great. Something went wrong and the young lady said ‘Error’ came up on her screen and she then had to complete the transaction manually which took a long time. Reviewed on: 7th October 2025

I almost gave up applying for an ISA account.

I almost gave up applying for an ISA account. The online form filling is unreliable, had to be restarted, entering information is not obvious, text boxes are faint, entering DOB should be easy but not here. The website design is not appealing and doesn't inspire confidence. Reviewed on: 5th October 2025

Came into the Wood Street branch to open a Junior IS...

Came into the Wood Street branch to open a Junior ISA for my daughter. Ella was most helpful and even helped me negotiate the steps with the pushchair. My daughter was also thrilled with the pink piggie bank! I was also impressed with the timescales for the account to be opened - today! Reviewed on: 3rd October 2025

Honestly the online experience is so clunky in compa...

Honestly the online experience is so clunky in comparison to competitors. Hodge for instance where everything works first time. The drop down menu on the application form doesn't have my country of birth so I was told to choose another one! There is no chat or phone support after 17:00. The payment-in system isn't compatible with my bank so my bank doesn't recognise the details of the account I'm paying into. I've paid a small amount in as a test and it's going to take 24 hours before I'm sure it works. I'm trying to set up a £20k ISA for goodness sake! Reviewed on: 2nd October 2025
