One word Co-op review: Superb

5
I don't normally review my bank, but when asked to do so one word jumped into my mind: Superb! To me, the Co-op stands for something special in banking which I think is important. Also, they offer great service, which make them an obvious choice in my eyes. Reviewed on: 3rd March 2015

Good bank - but could do a bit better

The co-operative bank has been very reliable. I banked with them as a teen - wrote quirky letters which they responded to nicely. Then as an adult 'I banked around'. But later I returned to the Co-op for a reliable personal and business account. OK for me things haven't gone so well in later life, I've ended up with a debit-only account - and my 'once successful' business account closed down. But I'd still recommend them. But there was one thing that always annoyed me. As a business customer I was unable to take my bank data into my accountant's system. So I spent long weekends keying in data rather than focusing on managing my money. Then as a personal customer - same problem - trying to start-up again as a 1-man business via my personal account I couldn't extract banking data. I could have used a 99p/month accounting system like Sage if only I could extract the bank data. So after 15 years I'm still waiting for that change to proper digital banking and accounting. Great bank!

Love the Co-op bank. Always someone available to help you in branch or on the phone. Very good security checks. All this wothout even mentioning their ethical values! The only small gripe I have is the lack of branches compared to the bigger banks, but that's not much of an issue in this electronic world! Reviewed on: 20th January 2015

excellent customer service, oustanding security checks, always come out bank with a smile

Have been a customer of the cop op bank for over 3 years now, they have the hisghest security checks in place in the country and beat every other bank hands down on the products they sell, the customer servise alone is outstanding and if your having a bad day can rest assured that the staff t co-op will definately not make it worse, loyal life-long customer....Rachel. Personal, helpful and (a rarity these days) knowledgeable

5
I recently took the decision to switch from NatWest to Co-op Bank after 26 years. As well as the ethical issues of remaining with NatWest, I was also fed up of the lack of financial knowledge every time I wanted anything from them. The service and knowledge from Co-op have been like going back to how banking was 15 years ago or more. Reviewed on: 27th December 2014

Always approachable and willing to help, their telephone contact team are superb (and based in England)!

5
Telephone calls are always answered promptly and courteously. Nothin is too much trouble, even at 4am! Staff knowledge is excellent and they'll call me back if they need to research the answer. The Co-Op Bank Twitter feed is excellent. The bank App is also very good. And they are an ethical bank. Ticks all the fight boxes for me! Reviewed on: 26th December 2014

Great customer service

Great bank, great service can't recommend enough Reviewed on: 26th December 2014

Personal service as it should be.

I've been with the Co-op for nearly 15 years, and no combination of £100 incentives and short-term teaser interest rates could persuade me to switch to another bank. From day one I've found the staff in all of their branches to be polite, helpful and knowledgeable, and both the telephone banking and latterly internet banking services have always been efficient and easy to use. Since the acquisition of Britannia Building Society, it's been easier than ever to get to a branch, and even when there isn't one nearby, the link up with the Post Office means I can always deposit cheques with a minimum of fuss. Above all else, despite all of the negative press, it's nice to be with a bank that has sound ethical guidelines and that is motivated by more than raw profit. Reviewed on: 23rd December 2014
