Review of the Halifax, Car insurance:

Fantastic Service.

I took out my policy in February, via a comparison site because it was the best deal. Two weeks ago, whilst parked my vehicle was hit by a motorhome. I was offered a hire car straight away whilst my car was repaired, the repairs carried out by Hewitt's of Stourbridge were first class. Hewitt's even delivered my vehicle back to work and took the hire car away. Rare these days to find such excellent service. Well done. Reviewed on: 13th May 2018

Halifax is xcellent value. The bank who give xtra !

Halifax car insurance was very easy to purchase and I like the reassurance of being covered by a bank I trust. I also feel that the coverage of the policy is more comprehensive when compared with other providers. Halifax also offered me the best price out of all the providers I was quoted by. All in one place!

It was great to see a reputable company like Halifax in a comparison site for buying car insurance. This allowed me to get cashback when buying. I was even more pleased that when buying the product, I could easily add this to my app with other Halifax products so I can see all Halifax products in one place. How are they able to trade???

My wife has driven for over 40 years , never ever claimed. she had her car stolen and has been treated like the criminal. We are literally traumatized.Disgusting . They have offered her a hardly nothing for her beautiful car, and made us jump through hoops. Her no claim discount as gone to 3 year's and they tried to rip us off to re insure her new car. Money owed overdue from Halifax

I am waiting for a refund of the owed car insurance and this is overdue. Despite numerous call during the day, I am left on hold and unable to speak to anyone. This is becoming very stressful. Reviewed on: 4th January 2024

Halifax Car Insurance - extra charge as they held wrong information

My car insurance was up for re-newal and the new quote was 50% increase on previous year. So I called them to ask how much it would be if I made a one off payment (I usually pay monthly) before the Customer Rep. would quote a figure she wanted to check the policy details, so I obliged- firstly their records had my and the named driver, driving license dates as the year 2000, which I corrected. Next as I have retired they had to change my occupation - so to these policy changes they expected me to pay £13.50 to the expiry date of the policy. When I asked why they could not state what exactly the additional charge was for. After a log and heated conversation in the Customer Rep hung up the phone. Aster a cooling off period I called back as I did not want them to cancel my policy - regarding the incorrect driving license date, apparently when using comparison sites the option of 25+ years is read by insurance companies as the year 2000?.?? Also retiring from work (I was a par-time minibus driver) increases your insurance risk. In the end I paid the extra charge but will not be renewing with Halifax and will never use them again - I have taken out car insurance with another company so Halifax for the extra £13 you have lost my business and £316 - the worst customer service I have ever come across. Not and Insurance Company just an Intermediary

I have an ongoing claim but unfortunately found out Halifax are just an intermediary and do not deal directly with any repair. I was was contact by Enterprise Credit hire who would deal with the repair if I first signed a credit agreement which left my liable to cost recovery if there are any problems with cost recovery from the 3rd party. After many telephone conversation I was finally advised the Policy is underwritten by AXA and i could speak to them to see if they could take the repair down a different route. The lady was amazing and they are now dealing with everything no credit agreement required. There is apparently no customer complaints department at Halifax Insurance so I have emailed the chief executive with my concerns a James Crosby. [email protected] Reviewed on: 6th October 2023

Halifax car insurance absolute ripp off

Total insurance cost £310 Cancelled policy when my car was taken off the road after just 6 days....because i planned ahead and and arranged my policy 10 days before the policy started i was charged £128 to cancel...absalute rip off firm. They said when you via compare sites there is hidden cabcel fees. They dont deserve 1 start...that pained me to give. DON'T USE. Reviewed on: 14th September 2023
