Review of the Halifax, Reward current account:

Rude, unclear, no transparency.

Halifax have succesfully upped my withdrawl cap from £500 to unlimited meaning I had £900 stolen from my account - when I asked why it wasn't stopped after £500? I was told 'sometimes we take that off certain accounts.' Naturally I didn't receive any compensation for the act of fraud on my account from Halifax. When your salary is only £1360 before rent and bills etc this is a HUGE sum of money which took me months to pay off. Or any communication letting me know this would take place. Recently Halifax decided to send out contactless cards and cancel all existing debit cards - once again I didn't receive any communication / or a new card - so now my debit card is blocked. Thanks Halifax. Now that I am earning double a month in my salary I will be closing my account and hopefully no longer dealing with this terrible company. I would also like to point out that the Branch Manager of the Holborn Branch refused to even see me despite my crime reference number in 2011 after my account was wiped. A big F**K YOU to Halifax. Brilliant customer service and rewards on top as well!

My partner and myself are currently in the process of buying a house. We wanted to have a joint bank account and went for our meeting with Halifax. The advisor we spoke to was very professional and friendly, not pushing us but letting us choose which account suited our needs, Needless to say we went with the reward account. All we have to do is put in £750 a month and have two direct debits set up. As long as we don't go overdrawn, we will be rewarded with and a extra £5 a month. Fantastic! When we've bought our house I'm thinking of changing my personal current account to Halifax as well! They'll even do all the work themselves to have me as a customer! Reviewed on: 10th August 2015

Amazing, finally a good reward programme!

Having been with my previous current account provider for 10 years and having nothing to show for it, I switched to Halifax Reward. Not only was the switching process seamless and done quickly, I now enjoy the £5 per month benefit every month! Easy to use & it's great to finally feel rewarded! Every little helps! Easy to bank with and a £5 reward per month

I have been banking with Halifax with the reward current account for about 4 years now and overall have experienced positive customer services. I mainly bank online and there system works well for everything I need including checking my balance, setting up direct debit and transferring money. If you pay your wages in of £750 a month then they give you a £5 reward each month as long as you are in credit. This is really good and I think has saved me more over the years than some of the other banks that just give you a one off payment. I also have a linked credit card which gives me another £5 per month if I spend £3000 a month so long as I keep the current account. Overall I think it is a very good account. Great Current Account switching experience and more

Current account switch was well coordinated, i received regular updates throughout the process. I continue to receive regular updates and my monthly reward continues to be unaffected by current account changes - i still receive my £5 per month on top of the £120 i received upon switching. Very rewarding!

I'd like to give this account 5* but what is holding it back is the range of rewards. I think more cashback / more surprise thank yous etc would make this account unbeatable - as it is it is pretty good. Reviewed on: 31st July 2015

Wouldn't think about going elsewhere
