Review of the Harpenden Building Society, Savings:

Good service

Great interest rates, though they have fallen several times in less than one year of having my account open. At first there was no option for me to withdraw any money so I had to contact CS and they added a button to the account - a bit concerning to have your money in there with no option to withdraw, although it was sorted. The account dashboard could do with updating/ optimising. It's extremely basic and not the easiest to navigate. All in all, these aren't major issues and I trust my money is safe. We're glad you are pleased with the interest rate on your savings account. We will always ensure our accounts provide fair value. Within the last twelve months there has been for reductions to the Bank of England Base rate, and whilst non of our savings products are directly linked, this does have an impact on pricing where we need to manage commercial considerations whilst always ensuring we put our members first. With regards to your feedback regarding our dashboard, I 100% agree with you that this could be improved and we are working hard with out software provider to improve the experience for our members. Friendly and helpful staff initially seen face-to-face in our local branch office. Having a local branch is great. Small building society means a very good service. Helpful staff on phone during online account application. They offer a trust account too. Reviewed on: 31st July 2025

I chose Harpenden Building Society because investment and withdrawal can be made by post and telephone. When telephoning the receptionists are most knowledgeable and eager to help. Reviewed on: 31st July 2025
