Shocking

Used telephone banking to change my address as I have moved. The person I spoke to was not at all clear and spoke very quietly I asked them if they would talk louder but throughout the call they spoke very quietly. They told me after about half an hour that I had not passed the security questions and that the account was locked and I would have to go into a branch of the bank to rectify. The only branch in Northampton is in the town center is closed until 19th December?? My personal account details are being sent to the old address where all the occupants will now have access to my account?? Reviewed on: 25th November 2022

Check and confirm everything

Generally ok, but had a negative experience when getting my mortgage. Was told to sign up for an account with a monthly fee and it would reduce the mortgage payment. That sounded good. Agreed. Made payments. Later had chance to review all the finance while sorting out house and wondered where the discount was. Went in to find out and was told no discount. Complained and was basically told tough, not getting monthly payments refunded, can't prove it was misrepresented. Reviewed on: 2nd April 2025

Very easy to use the layout is very clear when using online banking. I’ve been banking with hsbc for 3 years now and I have not had a single problem customer service is top tier answered all my questions and wait time is not long at all overall will highly recommend hsbc as I use it daily.
