Review of the Lloyds Bank, Home insurance:

% months since I reported subsidence of my home and they still have not sent anybody to look at it, despite emails requesting them to do so.

1
I contacted them in September of last year stating I had some cracks on the 'pine end' wall of my insured home. They have not attended my home to check the problem. They wanted to speak to me to ask 'important questions ' before they could progress with the claim. I told them I was unavailable for daytime calls and asked them to email the questions where I could supply them with answers. They still have not complied with my wish and thus far to date, they have not sent anyone to my home. I mentioned I would get a Chartered Structural Engineer as I was very worried about water flowing through the wall and the back door not closing properly. Mr. Collier said that I should send him a copy of the report, to which I replied that I would expect him to pay for the copy of the report, but he said he would not do that. On January 24th he said he would send a company called Innovation to my home to examine the problem. I checked who this company was, and their reputation of not replying to clients with their concerns, etc., was astoundingly bad, plus they are not experts in the field which is required. When I emailed Mr. Collier about my extensive research on this company he was very dismissive of my concerns and very rude in his manner. I have had a Chartered Structural Engineers report completed this past week and I emailed Mr. Collier to let him know the results were that there is subsidence and that my CSE stated that Mr. Collier should arrange for a Loss Adjuster to progress with this claim. I have yet to hear from Mr. Collier, and indeed he has emailed the 'important questions' that had stopped him from progressing with my claim, which were beyond ludicrous and could have been answered if he had bothered to examine the photographs of the damage I sent him last year! I do not understand why he is using delaying tactics and I will not send a copy of my report because he should send his own CSE and Loss Adjuster to progress with my claim, it should not be the client who does all the work and pay for expensive reports, this has been a fiasco and I would not recommend this company who do not seem to care for their clients or their homes that they have insured with them. I feel I have been intimidated and my concerns ignored for the last 5 months. I feel the only way to get anything done at this point is to go public through the media because this is astoundingly bad behaviour especially when it is a very serious problem. Rip Off Thieves

I Would Recommend No Buddie Buys Insurance From Lloyds. They Take Your Money Up Front And After You Sign The Policy They Will Stat Sending You Amendments To The Policy. Then When You Have A Claim The Don't Pay The Claim. American Citizens Need To Wake Up. Stop Buying Insurance These Companies Are All Rip Offs. Legalized Theft Reviewed on: 26th August 2020

Poor Buildings insurance cover

1
Have been paying them for about 9 years for buildings insurance. Never made a claim and paid about £700 per year. We have a recent water ingress coming in on the side wall bubbling up the paint and plaster and also entering the downstairs cloakroom. They tell us it cannot be claimed unless wind was above 50mph. How would I know that? How would they know that? This is exactly what you need buildings insurance for I said and after a lot of discussion they said they would send a surveyor BUT they are unlikely to say that it is a valid claim and I would have my record marked as having made a claim, even if I do not and cannot claim! What a joke! I could not believe it. The only time I try to make a claim I cannot and I will be marked that I have regardless. Needless to say I will not be renewing and I urge you to be careful when considering what I thought was a reputable company. Terrible company. Reviewed on: 24th August 2020

Avoid Lloyds at all costs!

1
Had to chase and chase for a response. Customer service appalling. My laptop was completely broken after a coffee spillage and they asked me to send them the laptop plus passwords!!!!! As I was unwilling to compromise all my personal data, I could not proceed with the claim!! As loyal customer for many years and zero claims.... I will never use again Reviewed on: 30th June 2020

Lloyds Home Insurance

1
Beware the data portals they use for' like for like 'comparison on replacing damaged household electrical items are often one already old and delted items or they use poor quality branded products that do not sell in high streets only from cheap warehouses. In this way the can say they found an item with the same spec but it is always the lowest quality and not a brand you ever heard of. It is a practice that you would expect from a Del Boy -not a major bank Reviewed on: 23rd May 2020

Would give Lloyds Bank Insurance O/5 if I could

1
Worst experience ever had in my life when using a named brand. They were not the cheapest but I was sold on the branded name. I had to make a legitimate claim and they did their absolute best not to pay even though we were covered in our policy. They refused to pay and we had to take it to the Ombudsman who agreed with us and even then Lloyds still refsued to pay. We had to take LLoyds to a small claims court and they settled at the very last minute. The whole process took 1 year to resolve. Having never made a claim in 12 years of having house insurance, we were staggered with how we were treated. It gave us so much stress and anxiety but having spoken to others, this is not how a typical insurance company treats their customers. It's just Lloyds Bank!!! NEVER EVER use them. They cannot be relied upon if and when you need them. Reviewed on: 14th April 2020

Homeowners Insurance NIGHTMARE!!! I wouldn't even recommand for the family of cockroaches that live in the walls

1
I had EXTREMELY slow response and still waiting for a response. I know someone who had a house fire 33 days ago and living in New York while this Corona virus is going on, she had to wait 4 days for a call back to be given her claim number while she had herself, 4 kids, her elderly mother, handicapped uncle and two pets were forced to find a hotel so they wouldn't live on the streets or in her vehicle. She had to pay (still is) for the hotel the first for everyone to be in the same room for now 32 days. She didnt receive her 1st 2 checks for an advance and contents until 20 days later each of those two checks being $5K each. How is anyone a family of 7 supposed to have a roof over their head (in 1 hotel room), food, clothing, bare necessities, gas for the vehicle, credit card bill that she was being charged for the hotel, pay for medications and that $10k is supposed to help. Those first 30 days at the hotel came to a total of $7500, paid her credit card bill down so it wouldnt be maxed out and the next week of living could be charged to her CC. The remaining payout on her policy so her contractors would start the work has been in their underwriting department for over two weeks. And the agent when she called my friend with the "good news" that those two checks were supposedly going to be overnighted my friend asked her when the checks would be here stated : " I don't know, I don't work for Fed-Ex. Real nice compassion by this disgusting company. Reviewed on: 11th April 2020

Con artists

Never trust this brand. Home insurance claim has been going on for 18 months and counting and they just don't care. Handed me to a loss adjusters who do not even call me back. My local builder and neighbours are helping me out as my home is no uninhabitable and they just do not seem interested. I have gone to the ombudsman who have said i am entitle to have my home back to pre-loss condition. Still not interested and there is only so much the ombudsman can do apparently! Do not touch this company! Reviewed on: 2nd March 2020

Never Again will I trust this brand!

Property was storm damaged during a storm, Met office had placed area of property on amber alert, storm rain overwhelmed property and was damaged ,Local papers and news all reported on the storm, When I called Lloyds with a valid claim knowing that I was covered for storm damage guess what their very smarmy staff had to say “We have no records of a storm did you measure the wind speed? was it over 50 mph?” WTF!!! , I replied “NO I did not go on my roof during a storm to measure the wind speed!!!!” Lloyds replied “Sorry you are not covered” Lloyds is clearly turned into an unfit company full of sneaky little ways to not pay out, I will never recommend this brand again or purchase a product with anything to do with them again. Cancelled insurance. Insurance document not worth the paper it is written on Reviewed on: 27th September 2019
